This is the MIAA <ul><li>Background: </li></ul><ul><li>The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has eleven institutions of </li></ul><ul><li>higher education throughout the states of Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska that compete </li></ul><ul><li>athletically at the NCAA Division II level while also contributing to the academic and </li></ul><ul><li>community engagement pursuits of student-athletes in eleven area communities in the </li></ul><ul><li>Midwest region of the country as well as the Kansas City metro. </li></ul><ul><li>Commitment to Kansas City: </li></ul><ul><li>Relocation of conference headquarters to downtown Kansas City </li></ul><ul><li>Relocation of multiple championship events to the Kansas City metro area </li></ul><ul><li>Member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce </li></ul><ul><li>Member of the Downtown Council of Kansas City </li></ul><ul><li>Active partner with the Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation </li></ul><ul><li>Active partner with the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association </li></ul>

This is the MIAA <ul><li>Community Engagement/Service: </li></ul><ul><li>The MIAA (and NCAA Division II nationally) is committed to community engagement and </li></ul><ul><li>service more so than any other level of intercollegiate athletics ( www.diicommunity.org ). </li></ul><ul><li>MIAA student-athletes and coaches will continue to implement this initiative through visits </li></ul><ul><li>to organizations such as Operation Breakthrough and through other activities organized in </li></ul><ul><li>conjunction with championship events in the Kansas City metro. </li></ul><ul><li>The MIAA is willing to provide administrators, coaches and student-athletes for a variety of </li></ul><ul><li>community engagement, service, outreach and promotional events in the Kansas City </li></ul><ul><li>area when possible. </li></ul>
