Description and Classification <ul><li>Tigers are in the group of big cats.Tigers are the biggest of the 5 big cats.Tigers can be 13 feet in length.Tigers can be as tall as 3 feet.Tigers are the heaviest cats in the world.Tigers can weight up to 660 pounds depending on the subspecies. </li></ul>

  4. 4. <ul><li>Tigers have fantastic hearing.Tigers have good eye sight. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Tigers have a color of reddish white on their face and under body black,brown and gray stripes. </li></ul>
  6. 6. The Tigers Habitat <ul><li>The tiger lives in many types of habitats. </li></ul><ul><li>Tigers live in rainforests,swamps,grasslands and savannahs. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Tigers also live in rocky areas.
  8. 8. <ul><li>Tigers can live in almost any climate, from hot jungles to icy cold forests . </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Tigers live in Southeast Asia, in India,China,Siberia,Korea and Indonesia. </li></ul>
  10. 10. THE TIGERS HABITS <ul><li> </li></ul><ul><li>Tigers eat wild bull,wild pig,deer, monkeys,fish,moose,leopards and crocodile </li></ul>
  11. 11. Tigers hunt alone.They surprise and overpower their prey with their strength.
  12. 12. <ul><li>. Tigers like to bite the throat to hold down their prey. </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>Tigers sleep and rest under cover most of the day.When it’s warm out tiger sleep in water. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Tigers stripes helps them blend in with the jungle making it hard for their prey to see them. </li></ul>
  15. 15. <ul><li>The tigers hearing is so sharp that they can communicate over and through long distances. </li></ul>
  16. 16. <ul><li>Tigers can use also use their speed and jumping ability to hunt for food. </li></ul>
  17. 17. The Tigers Reproduction <ul><li>The tigers reproduction is interesting. </li></ul>
  18. 18. <ul><li>A female tiger can have 2-4 cubs on average. </li></ul><ul><li>It can take a female tiger about 16 weeks to have a litter. </li></ul>
  19. 19. <ul><li>The name of a male tiger is tiger.The name of a female tiger is tigress.The name of a tiger baby is tiger cub. </li></ul>
  20. 20. <ul><li>Tigers can live 15-20 years in the wild.Tigers can live 26 years in zoo’s </li></ul>
  21. 21. <ul><li>The tigers enemies are people/hunters,prey they are hunting for and animals that may threaten their habitat. </li></ul>The Tigers Enemies
  22. 22. <ul><li>Tigers are endangered because tigers have been hunted by people for 70 years.Tigers are all so endangered because the forests where tigers live have been cleared, lowering the number of tigers. </li></ul>

  24. 24. <ul><li>There are 5 groups of people trying to help conserve their habitats.There are also efforts to stop the hunting of tigers and selling of tiger parts. </li></ul>
  25. 25. RAZZLE DAZZLE <ul><li>Their are 9 subspecies of tiger 3 are extinct. </li></ul>
  26. 26. <ul><li>Tiger cubs are born blind and helpless.There is usually 1 dominant cub in a litter leaving it’s mother early then the other cubs. </li></ul>
  27. 27. <ul><li>The female tiger raises the tiger cubs alone. </li></ul>
  28. 28. <ul><li>In the U.S.A. there are close to 12,000 tigers as pets. </li></ul>
  29. 29. <ul><li>In a pole by animal planet the tiger was voted the worlds favorite animal. </li></ul>
