9 THINGS TO CONSIDER
TO KEEP A STRONG PEER
RELATIONSHIP
1. LOYALTY AND HONESTY
It is important to be true and faithful to
your friends in order to maintain a firm
relationship. In the absence of this,
obviously, peer relationship cannot last.
This is the foundation of keeping a
strong friendship. Example, in a situation
where a friend confesses a wrong or
misdeed to his or her friend, to maintain
loyalty, the person whom this confession
was made must do his best not to tell
anybody else. There must be loyalty and
honesty manifested among peers.
BE A LOYAL AND HONEST FRIEND!
2. TRUST
Trust can be demonstrated in a situation
where a friend must not abuse or misuse a
confidential matter that has been entrusted to
him or her by a friend. Trust is a reservation to
keep a secret or something that is vital
information about the person. This is a way to
maintain a harmonious and happy friendship.
It is indispensable in a friendship that a friend
must not be doubtful of whatever ideas made
by the other friend. Otherwise that fellow can't
be trusted.
SECRETS ARE SECRETS. PROMISES ARE PROMISES!
3. SINCERITY
Sincerity means serious or an outward display
of sympathetic emotions toward another peer.
Sincerity is a way in taking one's feeling or
thoughts to persuade a particular friend
whether to show concern, generosity or
compassion. To be sincere toward a friend is
to understand his or her state of life and
treating her or him the way you want to be
treated. Like for instance, a good peer must
not accept a friend just because of material
gains or money. Neither do you gossip or
talking things at his or her back.
BEFRIEND A PERSON WITH ALL YOUR HEART!
4. RESPECT
In every friendship, a friend must
show due regard or esteem toward
the other peer. It also means
approval about the other's decision.
Respect must be mutual because it
requires that the respected friend
must reciprocate the respect. A
friend must respect their
differences, and decisions of his or
her friend. Do not force her to agree
on everything you do.
MANIFEST RESPECT!
5. COMMUNICATION & PARTICIPATION
Communication is very essential in a
friendship because in the absence of
this, it is impossible that relationship
become strong. It is basically the
foundation of friendship because it is a
way to express one's self about his
thoughts and knowledge he or she wants
to share to his peer. For instance, friends
must have time and bonding together
like going to mall, shopping, parties,
adventure times in order to have joyful
bonding and interaction.
KEEP IN TOUCH!
6. UNDERSTANDING
Understanding is a quality in a friendship
whereby a friend has the ability to
enlighten or explain the effects and
causes of a particular situation. This can
be emphasized where among friends
must give and take to look after each
other's welfare. Understanding means
you ought not cease or end friendship
because of expected problems. Solve
problems quickly. Both should adjust on a
certain situation. Communication is the
way to solve such conflicts.
SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS. DON’T LET ANGER TAKE OVER!
7. ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance is simply admitting one's own
uniqueness. In other words, acceptance is
where a friend must accept his or her friend's
limitations, weaknesses and differences. To
keep a friendship, both friends must accept
abilities, character, attitude, behavior as long as
they are pleasant. If a friend has undesirable
traits or qualities, the affected friend must call
his or her attention to refrain from being
undesirable. In doing so, a sincere friend who
stands to be corrected must accept his or her
faults for the sake of preserving friendship.
STAND TO BE CORRECTED. RESPECT YOUR FRIEND!
8. SUPPORT
Support in a friendship means
defending or helping a friend in
times of trouble and in crisis. It is
also showing support in his or her
harmony, success and happiness.
It means to make friendship more
meaningful, delightful and
beneficial. Be there in times of
happiness and also in sadness.
Always be there when he or she
needs you. Give advices.
SHARE TIME WITH YOUR FRIEND AT GOOD OR BAD TIMES!
9. LOVE
Love is indispensable in friendship because
between and among friends, they must
manifest their affection, care and love for
one another. To love one's peer is a basic
ingredient of a friendship in the sense that if
you are not showing compassion, concern,
kindness, then friendship is impossible to
keep. As there is a saying that goes "Love
conquers all", it means to say that a friend
who is loved reciprocates that love to his or
her friend, then everything is conquered for
love begets love.
A FRIEND MAY NOT BE BLOOD-RELATED TO YOU, BUT CAN
BE A FAMILY TO YOU!
