  2. 2. DUNIA BEAM - Call for applications open for YOU to apply The 2nd Cohort is open till 17 of December 2013 in the DUNIA BEAM project! The Call is open for: Category Duration Country 1. Undergraduate and Master exchange (max 10 months) Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon and EU applicants 2. Master degree seeking (max 24 months) Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon applicants 3. PhD short mobility (max 10 months) only EU applicants 4. POST-DOC mobilities (max 10 months) Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon and EU applicants 5.   4. 4. GENERAL RULES Remarks Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at first higher education level. Applicants must not have lived nor carried out their main activity for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in the European Union. * This does not apply to academic and administrative staff mobility flows. All individual mobility must start at the beginning of the academic year 2014/15 , no later than 31st December 2015. * Staff mobility can start at any time within the project duration, before Summer 2016. BU candidates can apply for:  Exchange programmes (undergraduate, master)  Full degree programmes (only master)  Short stay programmes (post‐doctorate, staff)

Exchange student Degree‐seeking student Exchange student/staff registered/employed at a university (home university) and temporarily studies/researches at a partner university (host university). Obtain a diploma from the host university in the EU. Duration The exchange period for students lasts from 1 semester to max. 10 months. Exchange scholars do not obtain a diploma from the host institution. (Students applying as degree students need to comply with the Host University entry requirements.) The admission criteria are detailed under each course description at the point of application, and in the Partner Information Sheet.
  6. 6. Levels of mobility (Middle East VS. Europe) Duration Undergraduate Students registered in a first cycle higher education programme who will obtain after the completion of the programme a first higher education degree. 1 semester 2 semesters Master students enrolled in a second cycle higher education programme who has already obtained a first higher education degree or has a recognized equivalent level of learning according to national legislation and practices. 1 semester 2 semesters Remarks - Exchange programs. Undergraduate and Masters Candidates can apply for scholarships as exchange students, and will not obtain a diploma from the Host University. -Full Degree programmes only from Middle‐East to Europe will obtain a diploma from the host university in the EU. Doctorate Post‐doctorate Young researchers holding a doctoral degree or who has at least three years of fulltime equivalent research experience, including the period of research training, at a research organization established in accordance with national legislation and practice after obtaining the degree which formally allowed him/her to embark on a doctoral programme offered by higher education institution. 6 months (TG1 EU) Target Group 1 EU Partner Universities Post‐doctoral fellows will mainly perform research and be involved in specialized training activities at the host university.
  7. 7. Levels of mobility (Middle East VS. Europe) Duration Staff 1 month (TG1 and TG2). Academic and administrative staff comprises lectures, researchers and university administrators employed by Bethlehem University. TG1:-EU Universities TG2:-Palestine. Academic and administrative staff are open to research, teaching, specialized training and activities related to institutional cooperation. The table below shows the duration of the DUNIA BEAM scholarships according to the type of mobility, your nationality, and Target Group (TG). Scholarship Covers     life allowance insurance coverage (health, travel, accident) direct visa costs and travel expenses for one economy class round‐trip participation costs (if applicable) List of Mandatory Documents  Double check for any additional documents and certificates host university might request.  Double check the specific description of the study programme you would like to follow, follow the links under the heading Academic offer of the partnership. Documents Passport (scanned Copy). Motivation Statement Resume (EUROPASS format doc.) Language (Check requirements of the University applying for.) For Post-Doc and Staff mobility not required.  Scholarship Declaration that you have not been awarded Erasmus Mundus SCHOLARSHIP before.  12 Declaration (TG1 from Lot-2) declare not lived nor carried out main activity for more than 12 months over the last 5 years in one of the EU. Not applicable for Staff.  Proof of socio economic disadvantaged situation. Not applicable for Staff.    
  9. 9. Masters Candidates – Degree Seeking programmes. Bachelor’s degree certificate or Expected_graduation_declaration.doc Certificate issued by your university or Declaration of expected graduation date. Transcript of records of bachelor studies Official record issued by the home university showing courses the student has taken and grades achieved Recommendation Letter Maximum one. Post-doc and Staff (Short Motilities). Proof of registration to the University (certificate of work) Document issued by home university stating that you are currently registered at your Home Institution Doctoral degree certificate or equivalent (only Postdoc) Official PhD title certificate or Declaration of expected graduation Date. Recommendation letter At least one. Activity research/ work Plan.doc (signed by the home universities) Must outline the research and academic activities to be carried out at the hosting university. Research plan should be between 1500 and 2000 words, and should include a working title of the topic, objectives, the methodology and a short bibliography. Check activity plan template. Letter of Interests by the Host University.doc Declaration signed by the Head of the corresponding research unit at the host university, stating that the candidate is eligible for a collaboration in the Host University in case he or she is selected.

Application Form Register for an account. -One time registering for an account , provide a valid email address and you will receive an email containing a personalized link to the application form. You may apply for two different universities or two programmes/courses at one university. If a programme or DUNIA BEAM PROJECT field of study is not available, please contact the corresponding partner university and ask them to include it in their academic offer for Erasmus Mundus – Dunia Beam scholarships. -Upload all required documents. All documents must be accompanied by a translation into English or the working language at the host university. -All documents MUST be uploaded in Portable Document Format (PDF). Recommendation letters must to be dated after 29 of October 2013. -Close and submit your application! When you close and submit your application successfully, you will receive a confirmation email.
