  • The main goal for the Discovery Program is to introduce children to the variety found in nature, and to encourage them to explore and observe while having fun. The following list gives an overview of some of the more specific goals of the program. Get children involved; make Phipps interesting to kids.Focus attention on the interdependence of plants, insects, animals and humans in the Natural World.Focus attention on the positive and negative impacts that we can each have on the environment.Raise the children’s understanding of the Natural World by encouraging them to explore, question and “discover” the physical world around them.Bridge the gap between the Natural World and the children’s more urban environment through the use of arts & crafts, games, stories and other activities. In return, the skies would bring rain to help grow food. Some native people in the rainforests, made rain sticks to carry seeds and precious items from one place to another as they traveled.<br />
