  1. 1. WORKING UNDERCOVER By: Shakera Shider
  2. 2. PROTECTION The C.I.A is the leading protection agency along side the military around the world. These females and males risk their lives every moment of the day in many different scenarios. They are uprooted from their families at any moment with out any notice or time for preparation. When called to duty their whereabouts are confidential, not even their families will know their location. If their cover is blown in any manner, death is the result. What would we do without them?
  3. 3. • Agents across the world collect this information while on secret missions. • The information is updated every month, by the technology department of the C.I.A, just to keep civilians in tune with what is going on in the world.
  4. 4. 3 NEW FACTS • 1. Females can only volunteer for military service at the age of 17, while males can enlist at the age of 17. • 2. D.o.D is eliminating prohibitions restricting women from assignments in units smaller than brigades or near combat units. • 3. The C.I.A has many opportunities for scholarships, and internships. They strive on knowledge.
  5. 5. Secrets What is the actual job of an agent, and who are they ? It could be someone very close to you, is it me?
  6. 6. IDEAS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH How can the CIA improve their surveillance judgments?
  7. 7. CIA agents who undergo role play training will collect more verifiable information and be less likely to be uncovered. If CIA agents go through role play training, they will provide the CIA with longer lasting careers (will not be discovered).
  8. 8. RESEARCH DESIGN quasi-experimental - Take new CIA applicants and randomly divide them into two groups. One group receives standard manual training and tests. One group receives standard manual training and role-play training. Then both groups are placed in the field and are tracked over time for 15 years. At the end of each year, evaluations will include whose “cover” was lost. Those who lose their cover will be compared by training method. These results will be tracked and compared to the previous lost cover statistics. Those agents losing their cover prior to the role-playing training will be the control group. The dependent variable will be how long “cover” is kept. Independent variable will be whether the applicants received role-play training or not. Who is within the population of interest Population of interest would be all CIA applicants accepted into the CIA. The sample would be all accepted applicants during a year of heavy recruiting.
  9. 9. Statistical analyses could correlate analyses between training type and longevity of cover. One way Analysis of variance could be conducted using the training type as the Independent Variable and Longevity of Cover as the Dependent Variable.
  10. 10. TRAINING AND IDENTITY COVERAGE Percentage of coverage 120 100 80 60 40 20 0 yrs 1-5 yrs 6-10 yrs 11-15 Years of training
