  2. 2. WHY DID I CHOOSE NORI? I chose Nori because I thought it would be interesting to understand more specifically what I am eating regularly and why it is a Japanese traditional food. thekitchn.comI am going to look at 1 sheet of Nori. Unit: g

FAT TEST RESULT When rubbed Nori and waited for 10 minutes the filter paper was not transparent Testing for Fat Procedure Firstly get a teaspoon of your food onto the filter •Filter Paper paper. Then rub the food into the paper and wait for •teaspoon of your food about 10 minutes. If the paper becomes transparent it contains fat. Conclusion: It does not contain fat.   6. 6. GLUCOSE TEST RESULT When Benedict’s Solution was poured over Nori, it remained in its normal color. Testing for Glucose Procedure •water at 30oC Firstly put your food and a few drops of water into the •test tube test tube, then put several drops of Benedict’s Solution •Benedict’s Solution into the test tube. Next put it in the container. After •teaspoon of your food waiting several minutes you will see that if the Benedict’s Solution turned red it means that it has glucose if it didnt it doesnt contain glucose. PROTEIN TEST RESULT When Biuret B was poured over Nori, it changed color.Testing for Protein Procedure•Biuret A•Biuret B Put about a teaspoon of your food in the test tube.•tablespoon of your food Next half fill the test tube with water. Then add 2 drops of Biuret to the test tube. Conclusion: It does contain protein.
  8. 8. STARCH TEST RESULT When Iodine was poured over Nori, it remained in its normal color. Testing for Starch Procedure •water •test tube Half fill the test tube with water and then add a couple •Iodine of drops of Iodine to the test tube, then wait a few •teaspoon of your food seconds and then it will turn black if it has starch if it remains in the browny sort of color it hasnt got starch.   10. 10. DIGESTION SYSTEM Nori is absorbed through the small intestines. The two types of vitamins are separated by the liquid in which can be dissolved: the water soluble vitamins are all the B vitamins and vitamin C. The fat-soluble vitamins are vitamins A, D, E and K. The fat -soluble vitamins are stored in the liver and fatty tissue of the body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are not easily stored and the rest go out in the urine.
  11. 11. HOW IS NORI GOOD FOR YOU?Not only is nori resourceful andextremely tasty, it is also very good foryou. Nori has a lot of protein andvitamins A, B, and C. It is also rich innutrients, mostly calcium and iron.
