A Weather Forecast
For Module 14.4
You will be using source material from local area weather forecasts.
You should use information for the current week.
2. 14.4 Weather Forecast
• 1) Collect data for a 5-day period
using the newspaper, personal
observations, and/or the local
news.
2) Include a graph to show
patterns or pictures (be sure to
cite the source)
• 3) Your presentation should
include:
• Introduction
• Current weather conditions
• Forecast for the next day
• Forecast - next week
• How to prepare for
current/upcoming weather
3. An example of a five day forecast:
• Introduction
• Today is Monday, April 20, 2015
• Current Weather Conditions
• Today the Shelby, North Carolina area will be partly cloudy with an 80% chance of precipitation. You can expect a high of 76
degrees and a low of 51 degrees. Expect humidity of 73% and winds moving southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
• Next Day Forecast
• Tomorrow is going to be clear and sunny with a 0% chance of precipitation all day. There will be a high of 71 degrees and a low of
47 degrees. Humidity will be at 47% and winds will be moving west at 5 to 10 mph.
• Forecast For the Rest of the Week
• For Wednesday there are AM partly cloudy skies but a sunny afternoon with a 20% chance of precipitation all day. Look for a high
of 75 degrees and a low of 53 degrees. There will be a humidity of 45-61% and winds moving west to southwest at 10 to 15 mph. On
Thursday it will be partly cloudy with a 10% chance of rain all day. There will be a high of 74 degrees and a low of 47 degrees. Humidity will
be at 44-48% and winds moving west to northwest at 5 to 10 mph. On Friday it will be partly cloudy with a 20% chance of precipitation.
There is a high of 70 degrees and a low of 54 degrees. There will be a humidity of 43-61% and winds moving west to northwest at 5 to 10
mph.
• How to Prepare
• This week will bring mild spring weather so dress in layers, since it will be cool in the morning and much warmer by afternoon.
There will some precipitation each day except for Tuesday, so be prepared for rain most of this week.
