Slide 2: Step 1: Are you eligible? - Are you at least 18 years old? Do you have a valid SSN? Are there 3 people (not relatives) who can vouch for your character? If you can answer yes to all of the above questions then you are eligible to earn a Massachusetts real estate salesperson license.
Slide 3: Step 2: 40-hour Pre-Licensure Course - Upon completing the pre-licensure course the school will provide you with a "Candidate Handbook" which contains verification of your completion and instructions to schedule the exam. If you pass, you will receive your license at the test center.

Slide 5: Step 4: Take the Exam - Pass the exam within 2 years of completing your 40-hour pre-licensure course. The exam is comprised of two sections:
1. National section
Ð 80 multiple choice questions
Ð 70% is passing
2. Massachusetts specific section
Ð 30 questions
Ð 70% is passing
Students will be told whether they pass or fail immediately upon completing the exam.

All real estate licensees are required to complete 12 credit hours of approved continuing-ed at any time during the 24 month period immediately preceding the expiration date on their license.
