The purpose of the project is to extend and expand campus network access to users on KNUST campus as well as, users off-campus such as Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Distance learning centers across the country. Lecturer's residences on campus and KNUST Accra guest house. • The WAN consists of Layer 3 VPN over IP/MPLS backbone via Last Mile Fibre to 12 locations across the country. • Internet bandwidth of approximately 1Gbps • Datacenter (DC) and Disaster-Recovery (DR) for (WAN and CAN) connectivity between Accra and Kumasi with auto failover. • Centralized Wi-Fi access with Primary and backup controllers and DC and DRs based on Cisco 802.11ac on Kumasi Main campus ,KATH, Accra distance learning centre and Accra guest house. • Firewall and Bandwidth Management for dynamically allocating bandwidth to specific areas. • Intra-campus point-to-point fibre to all faculties, non-residential facilities, halls, and selected hostels. • Point-to-multi-point fibre based on GPON FTTH technology is also provided to lecturer's bungalows, staff club house and 3 Guest Houses. 3.
