The bar along the top is an advertisement to entice the reader into picking the magazine up and purchasing it.

I chose ‘XS’ Music as the full version is ‘EXCESS MUSIC’ so that people are getting vast amounts of information, but the ‘XS’ represents it in a short format.
I added some text to my magazine, that would appeal to the viewer and make them want to read the exclusive interview about the artist who’s pictured on the front of my magazine. I chose to make the text white and red as they’re similar colours what I h h ’ h f f h k h h h ’ l l hplan to use through all of the pages which I create so they all have a similar tone to them. The red and white also works well layered over the image on the front and can easily be seen.
The 3 Polaroid images are the same as I’ve used on my double page spread, I’ve done this so that the viewer can relate to them when they turn to the story, however from feedback, I’ve been told they look repetitive and I plan to change them.
This shows the development of me adding other stories and text to the front cover, I have ensured that all the fonts are similar so it doesn’t stand out and look odd. The red enables the viewer to easily recognise the story title and if they want to read more then they can focus on the black text.

Contents page DevelopmentThis shows the developing stages of my contents page. The image is suitable as it shows a band as well as the solo artist who isfeatured on the front cover. I plan to add artists and the actual contents of the magazine to this page.
I have added the ‘News, Live and Reviews’ tabs in a similar format as they appear in NME magazine, I have done this as it clearly separates each section and allows room for sub categories.
This shows the final development stages, at the bottom I have added an advertisement like to the magazines website so there wasn’t a gap and it’s also a good way to advertise to more people who may only want to view online copies and not buy a new issue each month.

Double Page Spread Development I have created this text on Photoshop using a number of fonts and sizes. It will attract people to my magazine, meaning they’re more likely to read it.
I felt like this was the best image I could have used on the double page spread as it shows personality from an artist and makes the audience feel like she s looking especially at them. The background on the left was from a scanned collage which I have then audience feel like she’s looking especially at them. The background on the left was from a scanned collage which I have thendecreased the opacity and it gives a good balance of colour to the page.
I edited 3 more images and created a frame to look like a photograph to fill the space just above the typography at the bottom.

I have The photo’s which I added to fill the space have given the whole page more personality and they match well I havekept the colour scheme to only a few colours and they all contrast well with each other. The white background on one half the background on the other works well and allows the text and images to stand out.
