First Ever Jack Daniel’s Lounge Opens at Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Nearly 400 Military Servicemen and Women Gather to Celebrate New Space
July 25, 2014, Louisville, Ky. – Jack Daniel’s announces the grand opening of the new Jack
Daniel’s branded lounge at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. On July 25, the Jack Daniel’s Lounge was
launched in coordination with Fort Sill’s Inaugural Final Friday at the Historic Patriot Building
at Fort Sill during an opening ceremony and evening reception.
“This is the first Army installation to introduce a Jack Daniel’s themed bar," said Maj. Gen. John
Rossi, the Army Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill commanding general. "It is a beautiful
facility rich with history and now with a modern décor. It's an excellent venue for our soldiers
and their families."
The grand opening included a symbolic Barrel Roll, in which a Jack Daniel’s barrel was rolled
down a branded, black carpet into the lounge area to christen the new space. Fort Sill’s Garrison
Commander, COL Glenn Waters and the Director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation
(FMWR), Brenda Spencer-Ragland provided opening remarks and received an event-specific,
commemorative Jack Daniel’s barrelhead from Brown-Forman’s Director of Military and
Transportation, Joe Bollinger. A reception followed the opening ceremony with nearly 400
military servicemen and women in attendance.
“The goal of the Jack Daniel’s Lounge is to provide a relaxing and comfortable facility for
meetings and social gatherings for the men and women at Fort Sill,” said Bollinger.
The lounge reflects Jack Daniel’s image, adorned with No. 7 logos and wall graphics, and a Jack
Daniel’s branded wood plank finish focal behind the stainless steel bar top. To further the room’s
presence, custom lounge tables crafted from whiskey barrels add an authentic touch to the lounge
seating areas. Additionally, a barrel stave wall with a die-cut brushed metal No 7. logo is flanked
by “Jack Lives Here” wall graphics on either side of a soft seating area. Bold, black columns
with lit, circular violator signage frame a branded ceiling light box. The various seating areas can
be utilized for troops to host meetings or social gatherings in a casual atmosphere.
While this is the first Jack Daniel’s branded lounge of its kind to open on a military base, the

2. partnership with Fort Sill stems from a long history of military support from Brown-Forman. As
troops come through this installation as a duty station or for training, they will take away a little
piece of America’s iconic Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey with them.
