*We all know that video appeals to both our audio and visual senses*I know you don’t here this often guys but size and age don’t matter. unlike traditional website SEO where number of pages, age and links make a huge impact. With video it doesnt matter! *This results in an equal playing ground for new or smaller websites, plus your videos are 53% more likely to appear on the first page due to Google blended search.Let me explain how a recent study came up with the number of 53%. for the keywords for which Google offers video results, it found an average of 16,000 videos vying to appear on results pages containing an average of 1.5 video results –so that gives each video about an 11,000-to-1 chance of making it onto the first page of results. By comparison, there were an average of 4.7 million text pages competing for a place on the results pages with an average of just 9.4 text results -- giving each text page about a 500,000-to-1 chance of appearing on the first page of results.
So now that I have completely confused you with numbers I hope you still agree it’s a good idea to have video. Lets talk about how to make it work for you dealership. For a quality video you need to have a plan of attack.First decide what type of video you want to create a few examples are
Next you have to set your goals. It could be to *
Now that you have your goals its time to story board your video * Pick your topic: a few slides ago I gave you a list so pick one and get startedChose your background: Logo etcsWrite a script: even if you don’t write it word for word at least jot down some talking points. And never ever write a script for a testimonial but you can ask lead in questions like where are you from, what made you buy from us today. You can then use their answers for ideas on what to optimize their video for.
Next you have to decide on your videos call to action. Just like sales 101 . You need to ask for the sale! So what do you want them to do after they watch the video? It could be to *
Now that you have your video planed out it is important to record a quality video. It always best to use a production company but if it is not in the budget here are some tips to record quality video yourself. First set the scene for your videoTripod swivel
And remember to pay attention to lighting Front of a window: Even if your dealer principal thinks he is god do not shoot his bio in front of a window it is never good to have a halo effect or be surrounded by a bright lightAvoid creating shadows: nobody want to have dark shadows under their eyes. Its never flattering to look like racoon. A good rule of thumb is if you can make shadow puppets on the wall you may want to check you lightingAvoid harsh lighting: Even know its cool to be a vampire these days its never good to looked washed and pasty so use warm lights
Lets talk a little about camera angles. A Low-Angle Shot is done by putting the camera below an individual, pointing up. This gives the person on camera an essence of power and strength. These shots are great for video bios on the GM or Dealer Principal. The High-Angle Shot is the exact opposite of the low angle shot, with the camera above the person, pointing down. This shot makes the character look less intimidating and is perfect for salesperson video bios, By the way this is my favorite angle because it makes you look thinner!.

And always remember to record quality audio! It is frustrating to take the time to watch a video but not be able to hear it soDo a sound check: And not just testing 123, give it a good 20 second trialRemove background noise: no humming refrigerators , beeping horns or salesperson banter
Now that you have your raw footage its time to edit . There are a lot of free editing tools you can download and some that are already pre loaded on your computer. So make sure you add*Fade in and outs to avoid harsh video starts*Ad watermarks and logos to your video to stay top of mind* And bookend are great to ad to the beginning and end of your video. They can include your logo website address and contact info. For those of you who don’t have expensive software you can create your bookend in power point, save as a picture and add it easily to the beginning and end of your videos!
