4. 4. Quadrilateral just means "four sides" ( quad means four, lateral means side). Any four-sided shape is a Quadrilateral But the sides have to be straight , and it has to be 2-dimensional . Quadrilaterals
 5. 5. Types of Quadrilateral

There are special types of Quadrilateral

 10. 10. RHOMBUS

A quadrilateral having all sides congruent is called a rhombus.

 11. 11. Properties of Rhombus

All sides are congruent

Opposite angles are equal

Opposite sides are parallel

The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other

Each diagonals of a rhombus is the perpendicular bisector of the other.

 12. 12. PARALLELOGRAM

A quadrilateral which has opposite sides parallel is called a parallelogram.

 13. 13. Properties of Parallelogram

Opposite sides are parallel

Opposite sides of parallelogram are congruent

Opposites angles of parallelogram are congruent

Diagonals of parallelogram bisect each other.

 14. 14. TRAPEZIUM

The quadrilateral in which only one pair of opposite sides is parallel is called trapezium.

 15. 15. Properties of Trapezium

Only one pair of opposite side is parallel.

 16. 16. KITE

A quadrilateral in which there are two pairs of sides & each pair is made up of adjacent sides that are equal in length is called kite.
