  8. 8. The Value of Press Releases <ul><li>I have learned how important news releases can be. Also how to construct them in a way that will get them read and possibly used. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Promotional Item <ul><li>I enjoyed creating a promotional item through I found this to be one of the most useful things learned, because it not only benefited my client, but is also something to be used on a regular basis for business and recreational purposes. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Resume <ul><li>Having done a resume in this class has taught me how to tailor it in a way that will appeal to my strengths relating to the position applied for. </li></ul><ul><li>I also learned to leave stuff out that isn’t necessarily relevant. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Media Contact List <ul><li>I learned the importance of a media contact list. In case something is to go wrong, it is vital to have this list nearby. </li></ul><ul><li>Although it was tedious to make this contact list, it was necessary. </li></ul>
  12. 12. Constant Assignments <ul><li>This is something I struggled with in this class. Balancing the constant assignments due every Wednesday along with all of my other course loads as well as working. </li></ul><ul><li>This is one of the main things that helped me to get organized and manage my time wisely. </li></ul>

Photos and Captions <ul><li>When I did the photo with captions assignment I learned that the more natural the photo, the better. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The photo should communicate a message </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The photo should contain the rule of thirds </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The unimportant aspects should be cropped out </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The background should be pleasing, not distracting </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Contrast is key </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Captions should tell a mini story. </li></ul></ul>

Conclusion <ul><li>Overall PR Writing has been a really good learning experience. </li></ul><ul><li>Although this class was overwhelming at times, it was extremely helpful and I am glad I stuck with it. </li></ul><ul><li>This class has prepared me for future PR and journalism classes. </li></ul>
