The NET Model of Social Leadership - Factsheet - J Stodd

  1. 1. The NET Model of Social Leadership © Julian Stodd www.julianstodd.wordpress.com @julianstodd The NET Model of Social Leadership defines three key areas and nine key skills that the Social Leader must master. It's based around Narrative, Curation and Technology. In the Social Age, we work with communities to create meaning, and it's our ability to built reputation in these communities that gives us our power and authority: at a time when traditional hierarchies of power are crumbling, when positional power is being subverted by reputation, leaders need to curate their space wisely if they are to be effective. Social Leadership allows an organisation to be agile, to embrace creativity and liberate the power of communities. © Julian Stodd 2013

Effective Social Leaders recognise this and have the skills to influence at each stage. The NET Model starts with key concepts, but works down to core skills, diagnostics and tools. It's a series of modules that build practical capability to be a better leader, fit for the Social Age. © Julian Stodd 2013
