Upcoming Events and Opportunities<br />September 21 - 22, 2010 - <br />IFMA Advocacy Day and Public Policy Forum<br />Opportunity to engage with members of Congress, learn about IFMA’s government affairs program, and how to articulate FM positions on certain issues<br />This opportunity will help position you to influence decisions made in Washington that affect the FM profession - don’t miss it!   6. 6. Communications Team<br /> We provide forums for chapter members to share best practices, ask questions and receive valuable information. We create the theme and content for the Capital News, our bi-monthly newsletter and photograph the Capital Chapter events.   7. 7. Community Service Team <br />Wedevelop relationships with organizations in the local area who could benefit from the assistance of the Capital Chapter. We do this through fundraisers, scholarships and special events to raise awareness and get local facility managers more involved in the community.   8. 8. Membership Services Team <br />Wegrow and retain Chapter membership through active member recruitment and participation in programs. We want to grow the membership to strengthen the chapter and enrich the profession and careers of FM professionals. Education Team<br />We provide a variety of professional development opportunities to Capital Chapter members through:<br /> Programs Team - develops monthly educational programs<br /><ul><li>Emerging Leaders Team - helps professionals transition into</li></ul> facility management through networking activities and events <br /> Credentials Team - advocates and promotes IFMA credentials<br /><ul><li>Networks Team - promotes networking opportunities for specific interest groups</li></ul>Co-team leads: Judie Cooper, CFM and Alex Neyhart<br />

Special Events Team<br />We engage members by creating entertaining networking and celebratory events, such as the annual golf outing and holiday party, while raising funds for the benefit of the chapter.   11. 11. Partnership Team<br />We generate sponsorship dollars to make sure the chapter has the resources to present valuable programs, events, education and other important activities for members.
