For example, the support and production teams in place at CBG in 2017 allowed us to handle more than 1.4 million words for our customers – every day. Volumes Our organisation is streamlined to meet our customers’ demands for peak production due to product launches, model year updates, market introductions, etc. Having offices around the world means we are on hand to help you at any time of day. High availability Respecting deadlines is very important to CBG.We have been able to deliver high-quality product ahead of the customers’ set deadlines in more than a third of our projects. Our skilled and experienced translators maintain high levels of quality even when deadlines are tight. Delivery speed CBG assigns the same translator per language for our customers, allowing us to guarantee quality through consistency. Depending on deadlines and translation volume, we are able to provide multiple translators for projects who are coordinated by a project manager, ensuring the delivered documents are of the highest quality and consistency. Administration CBG is able to handle and analyse most available file formats, including XML, FrameMaker, InDesign,Word, PDF, Excel and many more. Extract content for translation When we hand the project over to our translators, we also include reference material and other relevant information. If the translators have any questions, CBG shares the customer’s response with all the translators involved. Translation CBG sends a quotation and/or an order confirmation based on the nature of the request and agreed conditions. Quotation We match the assignment with our translation memory and identify any similar passages of text.We then re-use these for the current assignment. Matching Some projects require revision in order to verify the target text for correctness and suitability.This is conducted by a second language specialist. Revision (optional) CBG is able to coordinate the customer review process upon request.We distribute the translation for review, monitor progress and collect feedback from your reviewers. Market review (optional) When the translation is complete, CBG performs several checks relating to spelling, grammar, terminology, layout, numbers and acronyms used in the text, amongst other tailored requirements. CBG quality assurance We import the files back into the original document by combining the text with the structure data and layout specification. Translated content is reinserted CBG updates the translation memory and makes sure the layout corresponds to the original file. Translation memory is updated The final document can be delivered by email, or via our Client Portal, an FTP server or system integration. KNOWLEDGEABLE PARTNER CBG has a multinational in-house staff of engineers, linguists, coordinators, project managers, layout specialists, technical specialists, and more.This ensures that our problem-solving capacity always includes perspectives from all aspects of our work.This multidimensional matrix is essential so that we can understand and deal with the complexity of the issues that we face.We have built an organisation optimised to cope with the linguistic, logistical and engineering challenges with which we are presented. Our multilingual staff are backed up by our linguistic network of more than 8,000 specialists, who offer various subject matter expertise and a range of languages. Of these, around 2,000 people are contracted and involved in our work on a daily basis.All staff are recruited, trained and developed through a well-defined and rigorous process. Linguists At CBG, our customers are always appointed a personal project manager who deals with their project from start to finish. CBG’s project managers have extensive experience of managing large and complex multilingual projects on behalf of our customers. By way of example, one project may involve several translators per language and up to 60 or 70 languages.A number of project coordinators and layout specialists may also be involved. So overall there could be hundreds of people involved, thus illustrating the complexity involved in project management. Project managers Our technical specialists have extensive experience of the translation and localisation process, with associated tools, formats and techniques, such as XML, SGML, style sheets, double-byte character sets, right-to-left languages and more.This is particularly useful when a customer adds a new language or a new product is launched, often to very tight deadlines. Technical specialists Our layout specialists handle a wide range of desktop publishing formats in many different languages on a daily basis and are able to handle complex formats.This includes Asian double-byte language layouts and Middle Eastern right-to-left language layouts, as well as creating and adapting multilingual illustrations. Our tools and experience allow us to reinsert text and ensure that graphical elements correspond to the original file. Layout specialists
  10. 10. IMPLEMENTATION ANDTRANSFER PLAN Depending on the size and the needs of your organisation, we can help you to develop a process that will facilitate your interaction with CBG. CBG can create a process adapted to your unique needs, with the aim of providing a high-end quality product. CBG proposes the process described below for successful implementations involving major corporations. We create a dedicated project team consisting of qualified personnel and task them with conducting an analysis of the prerequisites, processes and system integration requirements, as well as the linguistic aspects and skills profiles of prospective translators. Analysis and development phase Implementation and test phase Ramp-up and evaluation phase Full production We work with the customer’s representatives to analyse all aspects of the translation services needed. Our IT department makes the necessary adaptations to CBG systems and tools, as well as setting up system communications to and from the customer.
