Task 5 - How did you attract your audience?

 1. 1. Task 5 - How did you attract/address your audience?
ANGELDUST
2. 2. Visual FX
The target audience I would aim to sell my product to, is an audience that is excited by visual effects, this is particularly common of teenagers since they have grown up in the midst of ground breaking visual FX.
The visual FX used in ‘Angeldust’ would be seen as exciting and interesting by this audience, which would make them want to invest in the product
3. 3. This is an example of an animated
transition in which 2 layers of ‘matrix’ like, moving mesh crossed each other to create the effect we wanted to achieve, which was the virtual link between ‘Facespace’ and ‘Artbox’
This is an example of, using After FX, how we cut up a Photoshop image of ‘Facespace’ into different parts, and added the video of ‘Angel 3323, we then positioned all the different layers at different distances from the camera. We then set up a virtual camera to track along side the layers to create the ‘3D Effect’
4. 4. Attractive Girl
Through the casting of a ‘good looking’ teenage girl, with ‘sex appeal’, we can hope to appeal to teenage boys watching the project and draw them in from very early on, hence Chloe appears with in the first few seconds of the project.
This is a common technique used within a lot of media products, from ‘James Bond’ to ‘Friday 13th’, so it is a conventional technique.
5. 5. This could be seen as quite a suggestively provocative shot with Chloe leaning in forward towards the camera
Chloe is wearing girly pajamas, this may be seen as alluring by male audience members. This also suggests she is not threatening and an innocent character
6. 6. Real Life Parallels
The site ‘Facespace’ is based on popular social networking sites, Myspace and Facebook, this has been made obvious to the audience through the use of similar fonts and colours, and the obvious crossover of names. This will appeal to my target audience as the majority of Facebook and Myspace users are in the target age group of 16 – 24, with over 20% of the UK population using either of these two social networking sites.
This will appeal to audience’s because it gives them something to relate to between our product and their own lives, which will make them more interested in the product.
7. 7. +
=
Even the slogan
Is representative
Of the two sites.
8. 8. Audiences will instantly see the parallels
between our product and their own
Facebook / Myspace pages so it will
keep them hooked from the start.
9. 9. Horror/ Thriller Theme
Audience’s go to see Horror and Thriller films, such as ours, because it allows them to experience the sensation of environments they will, hopefully, not come into contact with in their own lives, within the safety and comfort of a cinema or their own home.
Our product contains a horror-esque narrative and features visually horrific images for a brief period, however we chose not to include a lot of gore in the narrative of the opening sequence.
10. 10. Although this image does not appear
on screen for very long, the horrific
Images are apparent. This will tick the
boxes for gore fans.
