Why should you invest in me?Iv found a niche in the market the simplicity of the logo but the way that thename appeals to people of all socio economic status because of the flip on thetwo fonts in the brand name. The names meaning Classified which has a few
different meanings such as exclusive so that not many people will have it makingit a desired item or brand, could mean the way someone comes across as classyso well dressed. In the dictionary it says arranged or distributed according toclass or designating the parts of a publication that contains advertisements orlists arranged by category, this is used in relevance to the way I want to advertisemy product because its aimed at a certain demographic but because of thesophistication of the text it could be aimed higher if the person thinks thedemographic is them. What I am going to do with the money?I am going to invest the money in paying for the printing of the first batch of t-shirts and to pay for the advertising of a poster I will be putting in a fewmagazines aimed at the demographic of people I would see wearing my clothesIn the process of designing my t-shirt I had to think of the style which I thoughtwould sell the most and there are 3 styles of plain t-shirt I had the decisionbetween Crew neck, V neck & Crew neck with a pocket
After looking at the designs I came to the conclusions of using the crew neck t-shirt which is the most recognised and simple but effective t-shirt to use.Originally I was going to buy a bulk amount of t-shirts either branded champion, fruit of the loom or American apparel and then have them screen printed. Irealised that this process was quite long winded in dealing with two sources sotried to search for a company that would do both. Stocking the t-shirts and printit for me, paying that little extra would turn out positive. After looking at different company’s I found fire label merchandisingwho cangive you a quote ofthe work you want done if you explain how you want it. I wasable to instead of have it screen printed on have the brand name embroideredinto the t-shirt which makes it look more professional and better quality asprints can fade off after a few washes.
Campaign I took inspiration fromHave someone wearing a Carhartt productCarhartt is a very well known brand for their quality of material and product as itis used by a lot of company’s as work uniform for their staff.Their Clothing is a bit more expensive than the RRP of my product but a goodbrand to take a look at as they focus on their advertising a lot because of thedifferent demographics of people they aim their product at. They sponsor a lot ofdifferent sports stars such as skateboarders, BMX’ers which keeps their brand onthe face of these extreme sportsman in the photo shoots they do and people willnotice the products, as well as this they have two brands within themselveswhich is just standard carhartt which is the standard clothing for workers etc butthere is also Carhartt WIP (work in progress) which is the more fashion basedclothing. The advertising campaign I particularly picked was for their 2012 bothSpring/Summer & Fall/Winter collections which was all drawn by the illustratorSHOHEI from Tokyo who is an incredibly talented artist who drew these pictureswith only a ballpoint pen and marker which adds to the ridiculous intricacy ofthe drawings. When I first looked at them I thought it was a photo which hadbeen edited to look like a drawing. What I like about the posters is the simplicityof the photos the colours are all basic on the white background the brand namestands out a lot, I will use the simplicity in my productAs part of the advertising campaign they made a series of videos showing theillustrator drawing the posters which were used in the campaign, this is how I
discovered that they were actually drawn. This adds to the campaign andadvertises the illustrator himself, The part which makes the campaign sointeresting and eye catching is the way that it looks like a models photo shootand they have still subliminally the brands clothes on the drawings of themodels, In the video you can see that purposely they have emphasized on thebrand logo when he rubs it out a few times to draw your attention to the badgebut it looks like a mistake the artist has made. How I am bettering the Carhartt is through price, I will be a lot cheaper butstill having a top quality product.Have people standing of the target audience I am aiming atWearing branded clothingMy product is going to be aimed at people of the age group that I can judge andknow the most about which is the one which myself personally would fit intowhich is Male 16-25. This age group is seen as what is hip and young so aiming atthis demographic is the best to because even people above the age can still beinterested in the product because the product will still be suitable for them. One of the ways that I am going to make it obvious what age it is being aimed atis in the advertising poster the model is going to be of the age of 18-20. Theproduct is not being aimed at females because the brand is just starting off so afemale collection may come in time but at the moment just want to release themale products but it seems to be in fashion that some girls wear boys t-shirts, itsnot a large amount but still makes it open to them and if the brand blows up thenit will be something they would want to be seen wearing.Because of the RRP of the product it is straight away put into a certain socioeconomic catergory because the high end section, so the professionals will bebuying top brand designer clothing not t-shirts of this price. The product isntcheap so cannot be bottom scale but leaves itself in the middle part, which makesit appealable to a wider variety of people, which means more people buying andmore profits.
I found a website called Photographers for you which allows you to put forwardthe job you have in place and you tick boxes as how you would like it to be andfreelance photographers respond to this via email giving you a wide variety ofthings to choose from with different price ranges.Initial quote for photographer is £325Including model will be £100 + £100 for hair and make up artist on location]The photographer and models travel costs are includedTshirts x 50 white crew neck embroiderd £229.80Software £2685.63Travel for myself 17.50Graphic designer to do logo £300Full A4 Spread in FHM £3,500Overall - £6,932.93
To Go a long with the release of the brand I will be creating social networkingpages with constant updates of how the brand is doing and keeping the vibe ofthe brand continuous, after seeing how the first release goes I will continue
putting advertisements in different male fashion magazines and other genreswhich fit the target audience such as skateboarding, graffiti& music. Thanks, Any questions?
