Conventions of psychological thriller trailers Camera work: • • • • • Low angle shots to show the antagonist being dominant and powerful High angle shots to show protagonist being weak Mid shots to show off costumes Close ups to show emotion Point of view shots to show the mental state of the protagonist
  3. 3. Conventions of psychological thriller trailers Sound • Eerie soundtrack to add tension in the equilibrium • Upbeat soundtrack to coincide with the action and fast paced editing • Soundtrack that speeds up as the editing speeds up, as the trailer progresses
