Even though a person might begin life as a prisoner of the natural endowments they were given and
the circumstances under which they were raised, they cannot remain a victim of this environment
forever. Eventually, every person must come to terms with him or herself. To know oneself, to fairly
judge one's strengths and weaknesses, and to attain true mastery over one's most basic instincts
and inclinations are among life's greatest challenges. But ultimately, anyone's rise to a life of
integrity and merit can only come as the result of a full selfFawakening. A person must come to know
themselves as well as others without deceit or denial. A person must honestly face and reckon with
all aspects of their character. It is this commitment that opens the door to a higher plane of existence.

“Decision makers can satisfice either by finding optimum solutions for
a simplified world, or by finding satisfactory solutions for a more
realistic world. Neither approach, in general, dominates the other,
and both have continued to co<exist.” – Simon 1957 (Nobel Economics)
