  5. 5. Bruce Lee Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940, at the Chinese Hospital, in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Lee was born in both the hour and the year of the Dragon. The largest influence on Lee’s martial arts development was his study of Wing Chun. in 1957 Lee finished high school in Edison, Washington, and subsequently enrolled as a philosophy major at the University of Washington.
