  1. 1. ASIGNMENT 2.JORGE AUGUSTO ORDOÑEZ VALENCIAREADING LISTI chose the book Analyzing the Grammar of English by Richard V. Teschner and Easton E. Evans.Georgetown University Press, Washington, D.C. © 2007. I recommend this book because it isexcellent and it has been very helpful in my work because it is easy to use, it is an analysis of thegrammar of a particular language (English) and not an introduction to linguistics whose examplesend up coming from English. In essence, grammar is the analysis of language elements that conveymeaning. These elements include sounds (phonetics and phonology), individual words (thelexicon), the constituent meaningful elements of words (morphology), the arrangement of words intophrases, clauses, and sentences (syntax), accent and stress (prosody), and the appropriate overallapplication of all these things in a given situation (pragmatics).BOOK LIST 1.
