surveyed by the NHS were satisfied with

We are always looking for ways to
improve our service. Did you know…
• We offer ALL patients, both NHS and
Private, after-school appointments up until
5:45pm from Monday to Thursday for routine
brace adjustments. We have also increased
the availability of emergency appointments
so that when we see patients to make them
comfortable, we can adjust their braces at the
same time. This helps patients avoid additional
time off school.
• We offer nervous patients the option of
scheduling their appointments during Parent-
Child Clinics so that their parent/guardian
can sit in on the appointment with them.

4 Weeks From Referral To First Appointment
We are now seeing patients within four weeks of referral. Our customized referral pads have
been welcomed by referring practitioners and patients alike. These include carbonized duplicate
referral forms so that a copy of the referral can be retained for each patient’s records and a
Patient Information Leaflet which can be handed to the patient at the time of the referral.

Lesions
White Spot Lesions (WSLs) due to demineralization
can affect 50% of orthodontic patients treated using
conventional composite bracket adhesives* and in our
experience, patients with a history of poor oral hygiene
are at even higher risk of developing WSLs. Enamel
demineralization has been reported to most commonly
affect maxillary lateral incisors, mandibular canines and
premolars.**
At Stevenage Orthodontics we take no chances.
Although we educate all patients in good brushing
and diet so that their oral hygiene is of a sufficient
standard to begin orthodontic treatment, we also
use Fuji Ortho LC glass ionomer bracket adhesive for
ALL of our labial fixed appliance patients because
of its fluoride-releasing properties and because the
literature reports that it helps reduce the prevalence
of WSLs.*
