Exploring Our site !!!-We were measuring the size of our site andsketching the layout of our site.
Information Of Our Site……- The site is located at riverside.- Infront of the site has a smalldelta which has a roughsurface and full of rocks.- Upper part of the site is full ofbushes.- Lower part of the site is full ofrocks and sand.- It is the habitat of a lotinsects, such as spiders,millipedes, drangonflies,water striders, bees andmoths.
BalsamorhizaHookeri- Balsamorhiza Hookeri is the family of the asteraceae.- Is perennials with fleshy taproots and caudices bearingerect stems.- People use the sticky sap of this plant as a topicalantiseptic to minor wounds.- The plant is edible and nutritious- It contains a bitter, strongly pine-scented sap.- Has 90cm centimeters of height.
Dragonfly- Dragonfly is an order of Odonata.- It is found hovering near lakes and swamps.- Besides, it is carnivorous animals and they feed onother small animals.- Dragonfly lay their eggs in or on the water.- Best known for its beautiful colours of its body andwings.- They can fly at speed of up to 36 miles per hour.- There are 5000 different species of dragonflies allover the world.- The eyes of dragonfly have 30,000 lenses.
Day ActivitiesMeeting Time…..‘Meeting time‘Meeting time was a awesome game which was created by our lecturer MissD. We enjoyed it very much although it was tiring. We definitely experiencedthe nature. Besides, this game had strengthen the relationship between us.
Obstacle Coarse…Obstacle Coarse was a challenging game which was organised by the tutor ofRiverstone Eco Resort. We need to went through a lot of obstacle to complete ourmission. Besides, we learned that how to brainstorm to find a better solution to gothrough our mission.
Night ActivityCreate Group Logo…At night, our lecturers asked us to create our group logo by using the materials which werecollected at our site. We needed to use our creativity to create a logo which had our group’sidentity and presented it to our lecturers and friends. I realised that the materials whichwere collected by us had great uses to make our logo looked better.
Final Site Observation: 5 Senses ExperienceExperiencing Nature….
SEE- I see a crystal clear river and a breath-taking scenery. The sunshines on the surface of grass and water make them a greatcombination. It shows the texture and characteristics of thoseelements. Without them, nature will not be beautiful.
HEAR- I hear the sound of flowing water. It sounds relaxing and able torelease stress. Besides, I hear the chirping sound of the birds and thecrickets. They sound amazing. I admit they are great singers in thenature..
Taste- I taste the water of the river. It is tasteless, fresh and cool. Besides, Itaste the leaf which is picked from our site. It tastes bitter and dry.Furthermore, the sand that I tasted is tasteless..
Smell- I smell the air of the nature. It is cool and refreshing. Besides, itmakes me energetic. Furthermore, I smell the wood which is grown atour site. It slightly smells like vegetable .
FEEL- I feel the beauty and the true features of nature. The nature ispeaceful and it is the most beautiful part of the earth. It makes merelaxing .
Interesting part of my siteWater Strider- There are a lot of water striders in our site. They are adorable andunstoppable. They like to jump everywhere on the surface of water. Ican’t even catch them.Fishes- These are some tiny fishes in under the roots of the trees. They like tohide because afraid of enemy and predators. Although they have agreat hiding skills, we catch them for doing some observation for myproject.Millepede- There are different sizes of millipedes hiding in the sand or rocks toprotect themselves. Sometimes, they might be coming out to have awalk.
Understanding of EcosystemBased on the infographic that my group members and Ihad done,Reproduction- Different species of insects lay different amount ofeggs.- The bigger the size of animals, the less the eggs theylay.- The habitats of animals will affect the amount of eggsthey lay.- Different species of plants produce different amount ofseeds.- Different species of plants have different speeds totravel their seeds.
