1. BAKU 4TH GLOBAL BAKU FORUM
/ PASCUAL, JOHN ADAM P.
CIR / LPU MANILA
REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN NIZAMI GANJAVI INTERNATIONAL CENTER
2. On 10–11 March 2016, international leading figures in global politics are convened
by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center in a game-changing event in Baku to
debate the current trends in international relations and human security. The meet-
ing provides a space for current and former Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers
and leading scholars and experts to assess the current state of the world and the
most pressing threats to international security and peace, and to elaborate con-
crete steps for today’s leadership to overcome these divisions.
The meeting will build on the findings from the Baku Forum of 2015, which
reviewed the main challenges to the current World Order and explored options to
overcome them. Over 70 former and current world leaders gathered in Baku to dis-
cuss issues of top priority such as the future of Russia-West relations, the threat of
radicalisation, the promise of reconciliation, the role of women in peace leadership,
or the use of energy security and inter-faith dialogue as enhancers for dialogue

Touchdown Azerbaijan! Baku
is the capital and the largest
city of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, as well as the
largest city on the Caspian Sea
and of the Caucasus region.
It is a large scientific, cultural
and industrial center. Ancient
foundations, a large area and
population all make Baku one
of the oldest and largest cities
in the East.
Baku shot to prominence on the world stage for
twice, and both were unlikely reasons: an oil
boom in the late 19th century; and as the
Eurovision host city in 2012. This eclectic post-
Soviet city on the Caspian Sea, is dynamic,
wealthy, and packed with intriguing oddities that
will have even the most world-weary of travellers
tapping their toes in glee. (telegraph.co.uk)
All the guests will be welcomed at the Heydar
Aliyev International Airport. There will be VIP
ground transportation from Airport to the Hotel
and in the opposite side going to the Fairmont.
