Digital Literacy<br />The ability to use digital technology <br />- And -<br /> Knowing when and how to use it<br />Ask Yourself these questions:<br />Do I use cell-phones, X-Box, Wi, and other game systems responsibly?<br />Do I use MP3 players in a legal and responsible mannor?<br />Do I use computers as a tool and not a toy?<br />
Digital Etiquette<br />The standards of conduct expected<br />- By -<br /> Other digital technology users<br />“Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you!”<br />
Digital Law<br />The legal rights and restrictions governing technology use<br />Just a Few Points:<br />2.Do not slander others<br />3.Do not violate copyright laws<br />4.Do not download music unless you have permission form the artist or you have paid for the music and then don’t share with others.<br />
Digital Rights and Responsibilities<br />The privileges and freedoms extended to all digital technology users, and the behavioral expectations that come with them.<br />1. If you inappropriate technology use – report it<br />2. Do not bully others or allow yourself to be bullied on line<br />3. Don’t say anything in an instant message you would not say face-2-face<br />What you say and post online – lives forever!<br />
Digital Health and Wellness<br />The elements of physical and psychological well-being related to digital technology use<br />Be aware that repetitive stress injuries, eyestrain and back problems as well as addiction to technology use can and does occur.<br />Remember to balance your life – Balance the amount of time you spend on the Internet with your other social, academic and work responsibilities<br />
Digital Security<br />The precautions that all technology users must take to guarantee their personal safety and the security of their network<br />Use virus protection programs and keep them up-to-date.<br />Configure firewall protection<br />Encrypt wireless routers<br />Never share personal information about yourself when you are online.<br />
