  1. 1. Overview Display Navigation Buttons PredictPro Button Alarm Banner ToolBar Each Loop Can be Accessed Any area on the display can be made into an active point & click area to call up a window or navigate to a new display.
  2. 2. Alarm Access Clicking on the active alarm called up the faceplate allowing the operator to acknowledge and correct the problem. It could also have taken the operator to a different display. Alarm summaries and lists are available in the toolbar.
  3. 3. Loop Faceplate Clicking on the Loop called up the faceplate where the operator can change mode, SP, etc. He has one click access to loop tuning, alarm acknowledgement, trending, and with the appropriate privilege, he can access the engineering environment.
  4. 4. Loop Details With the appropriate privilege, the user can change tuning, alarm limits, diagnostics, etc.
  5. 5. PredictPro Operate This is the operator window or faceplate to the MPC controller. From here, he can view the optimizer, change modes, SPs, etc. The shaded part of the trend shows the prediction horizon for Process Outputs
  6. 6. Optimizer Dialog The optimizer Dialog shows which variables are being maximized or minimized and what the “economic” value is for each of them.
  7. 7. MPC Variable Details Each variable has detail parameters that can be changed online with the proper privilege.
  8. 8. Trending Trends can be created and saved for recall. In this case, the display builder created a navigation button to call up a specific trend. The toolbar has a generic trend button that allows you to pick any trend set that has been created.
  9. 9. DeltaV Explorer The engineering environment.
  10. 10. Exploring & Opening Control Studio You can look at any module in the system and it’s parameters and blocks. Control Studio is the configuration environment. The advanced control selection will allow you to open the engineering environment for tuning loops or accessing Neural Networks or MPC.
  11. 11. Predict Pro This Module has a Predict Pro block and double clicking brings up the variables. Right clicking will allow you to go into the engineering environment for Predict Pro.
  12. 12. Predict Pro (Engineering) From here you can initiate automatic step tests, create/edit/view process models, generate and download the MPC, and open Predict Pro Operate. Once the controller is configured, this is the main engineering environment. DeltaV Neural has a similar engineering environment.
  13. 13. Composite Blocks There is a library, which can be added, of composite blocks to perform special functions or calculations. Here we have opened a composite block to calculate heater efficiency using the heat loss method. Simply define where it gets the input information and it will do the rest.
  14. 14. Drill Down / Back Out Here we have drilled down into the efficiency calculation, which happens to have nested composite blocks. We could drill down further or back out by right clicking.
  15. 15. Control Studio Online From here you can see the configuration AND the current values in the process. This is a helpful tool for checking out your configuration and it works whether you are online or in simulate mode.
