Framing
• Some things to keep in mind:
• Want to lead the eye to where
you want your audience to see
• In recording individuals, you
don’t want to cut off limbs at
any point
• Must provide the following:
• Headroom
• Leading room
This doesn’t mean allowing a lot of
additional space
Establishing shot Gives us location Full Shot Puts the subject in the frame
2. Medium Shot Generally cuts off the lower body Closeup Shot Generally allowing you to focus on
the individual and possible emotions
Extreme Closeup Shot A detailed shot that could
otherwise be missed
