1. How to find eBooks in the EbscoHost
eBook collection
&
Downloading Adobe Digital Editions

5. If you do not have your own personal account in EbscoHost yet, create
one, using the SIGN IN button.
You will need to do this if you want to download the whole book.
Sections of the book can be read online without signing in.
When you download the whole book you can ‘borrow’ it for 5 days, as if
it were a regular hardcopy book.
If someone has downloaded or is reading the book during that 5 day
loan period, you will not be able to access it and will be placed ‘on hold’
until the book becomes available again.
6. Create a new account or sign in
if you have an account.
7. Once you have signed in you
can see the ‘MY’ banner on the
EbscoHost logo.
8. Type the name of the book:
Seamless R and C++ Integration with RCPP
And click on Search.
13. You will need to download Adobe Digital Editions on to your computer
to read the book offline on your desktop.
Click on the link when you get to the download screen or go to this
address to download Adobe Digital Editions:
http://www.adobe.com/africa/products/digital-editions.html

14. Adobe Digital Editions will prompt you for a Vendor Login ID
Check the box that prompts you to authorize your
computer without an ID.
15. Follow the steps until your computer has been authorized
to read the eBook.
Click OK.
16. Adobe Digital Editions will open. Wait a few minutes for the
book to start downloading on to your computer.
17. The book is downloaded into Adobe Digital Editions
18. • eBooks can also be found in UCT
Libraries Catalogue (ALEPH)
• Click on the link to the eBook
platform.
• Follow the steps in the previous slides
to access the book once you have
clicked on the link.
