  1. 1. ARTICLE #1: HOW TO CHECK WHAT VERSION OF WINDOWS 10 YOU’RE RUNNING Usually, what version of Windows 10 you’re running won’t affect your daily life. However, installing programs such as anti-virus programs or media players might require you to download the version of your program that coincides with your system’s power. 32-bit programs require less system memory with lower performance, while 64-bit programs use more memory, but run at a higher quality. Here’s an easy way to check what version of Windows 10 you have.
  2. 2. STEP 1: LOCATE YOUR SEARCH BAR. The search bar is located on the bottom of your screen, near the Windows icon.
  3. 3. STEP 2: CLICK IT, THEN TYPE IN “DXDIAG”
  4. 4. TIP “dxdiag” is short for “DirectX Diagnostic Tool”, which will report your system’s specifics and components.
  5. 5. STEP 3: LOOK FOR “OPERATING SYSTEM”
  6. 6. At this point, you should be able to locate what version of Windows 10 you have. Now you can install all the proper programs without fear!
