  2. 2. History Here If you’re road-tripping in the U.S., this free Android app will help you find all the historical must-sees on your route. Impress your family with your wealth of obscure historical factoids.
  3. 3. Mom Maps Another U.S. app, this $2.99 iOS tool is aimed at Moms, and will help you find mom and kid-friendly attractions across the country, from parks and museums to playgrounds and play areas.
  4. 4. WeatherEye You won’t get caught at the beach on a rainy day with The Weather Network’s app. And because it’s Canadian, no need to find the setting to switch to Celsius. Free for Android, iOS and BlackBerry.
  5. 5. Google Translate Free for Android and iOS, Google’s translation app is a must when you don’t know the language. With text to speech and speech to text, you will find that subway station.
  6. 6. XE Currency Is that bottle of water in your hotel room a deal or a steal? This free Android app will quickly convert the price to Canadian dollars and let you know. Note: In Mexico, the bottle of water is always a good deal.
