Scholarship Description: Financing your MBA can be a challenge. RSM offers numerous scholarships to candidates that have been accepted onto the Full-time MBA programme. Below you will find a list of general and country-specific financial aid scholarships. It’s impossible to list every opportunity here, so we also suggest that you should research financial assistance offered from your own country.   5. 5. 4. TEACHING FELLOWSHIPS. THE OSCE ACADEMY IN BISHKEK, KYRGYZSTAN. APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 31, 2014 The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is looking for several Teaching Fellows for its MA in Economic Governance and Development Programme. The Teaching Fellows are needed for the following courses: • International Financial System: 2 credits: 1,5 hours per week, 1 Sep–20 Dec 2014 • International Accounting Standards: 4 credits: 3 hours per week, 1 Sep – 20 Dec 2014 • Economic Law: 4 credits: 3 hours per week, 1 Sep – 20 Dec 2014 • Project Management: 2 credits: 1,5 hours per week, 1 Sep–20 Dec 2014 • Economy of Border Management and Transport Routes: 2 credits: 1,5 hours per week, 1 Sep–20 Dec 2014 or short-term (1,5–2 weeks, October 2014) The aim of the courses is to provide a graduate level survey of these fields introducing students to major approaches and theories, important topics, and the contemporary developments. The courses are expected to be taught on graduate level involving lectures, seminars, research assignments, and individual student mentoring. The specific course topics as well as the course design should be discussed with the academic management of the OSCE Academy. Located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the OSCE Academy is strongly embedded in the wider Central Asian academic and political context and follows a distinctive regional approach in its activities. The OSCE, a number of the OSCE participating States and academic partner institutions actively support the Master of Arts in Economic Governance and Development Programme. Requirements: The qualified candidate holds at least an MA/MSc but preferably a PhD degree in Economics or a related field and has teaching experience. The OSCE Academy will consider the possibility to provide support to fellows interested in conducting their research in the Central Asian region. The OSCE Academy will provide/cover: • Economy class roundtrip airfare from the city of current residence to Bishkek; • Entry visa expenses to Kyrgyzstan, if any; • Housing allowance for international fellows; • Honorarium based on the qualification of candidate; • office space and a computer, as well as access to all of our facilities, including library, JSTOR, Oxford University Press etc. NOTE: The Academy will not be able to provide health insurance. Both local and international applicants are eligible to apply. 5. 2014 UNESCO/ISEDC CO-SPONSORED FELLOWSHIPS PROGRAMME. DEADLINE: MAY 30, 2014 Description The aim of the fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transition. The UNESCO Category II International Center for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow, Russian Federation, is offering 20 fellowships of four weeks duration each in 2014.The fellowships will take place from 6 to 31 October 2014. The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study: • Energy and sustainable development; • Ecological management of energy resources; • Renewable energy; • Sustainable and renewable energy power generation. • Eligibility
  6. 6. Eligible to apply are nationals of developing and countries in transition. They should also meet the following criteria: Be holders of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics; Be proficient in Russian language; Be not older than 25. Remuneration and benefits • Beneficiaries will be exempt of paying tuition fees for the entire duration of studies/training; • Fellows will undertake studies/training under the supervision of an advisor or study director that will be provided by the host institution; • The donor Government will pay stipends to beneficiaries on a monthly basis, in local currency. The stipend amounting to US$ 800 is intended to cover living expenses such as accommodation, meals, pocket expenses, and incidentals. The donor will determine the amount of the stipend to be granted to beneficiaries; • ISEDC will assist in obtaining modest housing for the fellows; • UNESCO will cover the cost of the round-trip international travel at the most economical rate and the most direct flight; • UNESCO will pay a one-time travel allowance amounting to US$100 prior to the fellows’ departure for the Russian Federation; • To avail of this entitlement, beneficiaries should be declared medically fit by the UNESCO Medical Service that examines the complete medical dossiers. • No provisions can be made to finance or lodge the fellows’ family members. UNESCO and ISEDC provide no allowance to defray passport and visa expenses. Beneficiaries will be required to submit to UNESCO a short progress report co-signed with the academic supervisor at the end of the first month and a final report upon termination of the fellowship. These reports could be written in English or in French and copies of which will be furnished to ISEDC. Application All applications should be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO and must be duly completed in English or French with the following attachments in duplicate: • The prescribed UNESCO fellowship application form (p.8); • Six photographs; • Certified photocopies of Diplomas; • Certificate of English Language proficiency; • Subsequently, for those who have been selected, the UNESCO medical examination form duly completed by a recognized physician (not more than four months before the actual date of studies). The prescribed form of which will be sent along with the letter of award. Expenses incurred in the constitution of the medical dossiers will not be reimbursed. • Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for the submission of applications and candidatures, and do not fulfil the requirements mentioned above, will not be considered. Each invited Member State is requested to nominate not more than two candidates. Note that the election process goes through the National Commissions. Read more about the application process. Objective/purpose of the consultancy/services • To conduct a training for journalists on reporting on children in emergencies Background Reporting on children is still an issue for both in non-emergency and emergency situations. Children are considered as an object rather than a subject in almost all the media. Rights based language is not used. Journalists often consider children’s needs rather than referring to their rights. Children often receive a second trauma when interviewed by journalists. Furthermore, images of children are manipulated for varies political and commercial reasons. This contract is required to conduct a training for 25 journalists on reporting on children in emergencies. It is scheduled on 15-18 July 2014 in one of the Issyk-Kul resorts. The goal is to make a team of loyal and skillful journalists to be key partners in case of emergency. Scope of work and key tasks 1. To discuss an agenda of the training with UNICEF on 14 July.
