Workforce Education and Development Specialist with 11 years experience creating and delivering classroom,laboratory and han ds

EXPERIENCE: Instructor, Course Supervisor and Section Leader 2013-PRESENT
Responsible for the training and administration of the Submarine Machinist Mate Vocational Schooling which includes
course development/upkeep, monitoring/evaluation of other instructors’level of knowledge/instructional technique, and the
mentoring of junior sailors to become the best and brightest auxiliary mechanics for the United States Submarine Force.
Leadership
Delivered 1800 hours of classroom and 600 hours of safe laboratory technical training for more than 350 sailors, resulting in
100% fully trained and operable mechanics for the U. S. Navy Submarine force.
Led a review board of 3 personnelto interview/determine the professional direction of 20 sailors who had difficulties with
the course requirements, resulting in the reinstatement of 17 sailors back into the vocational pipeline.
Certified as a U. S. Navy MasterTraining Specialist ahead of scheduled time, providing the opportunity for 50 hours of
accumulated training for the qualification 6 other personnelwithin the same command.
Organizational Management
Maintained order of 110 publications, keeping them current and up to date resulting in zero training deficiencies for 13
courses.
As the Equipment Parts Manager, ordered/received/maintained $50,000 worth of parts for 13 courses resulting in zero missed
training opportunities due to missing parts.
Ensured that 26 pieces of heavy lifting gear stayed within periodicity by creating a new spreadsheet that tracks all of the
equipment, this resulted in zero training mishaps, and 100% availability for 13 separate courses.
Supervision
As course supervisor, analyzes occupationaltask listings, designs job task analyses and instructional materials, develops
learning objectives and course curriculum, implements pilot courses and instructional phases,and updates/ maintains the
course via course evaluations and feedback from the Submarine Force by utilizing the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement
and Evaluate (A.D.D.I.E.) model of curriculum development.
As the course supervisorfor the EPA Refrigerant Technician course,maintained/updated 4 course testing plans,created an
easier grading systemfor the instructors,and created a spreadsheet for the tracking of 500 students who attended the course.
As a Duty Watch Section Leader, spent 300 hours training and developing 500 junior personnelon proper Organizational
etiquette, and how to become proficient watch standers.
Awards
Selected as the Sailor of the Quarter from 74 peers during 2nd quarter 2015. Awarded third Navy and Marine Corps
Achievement Medal for this period.
Dry Deck Shelter Quality Assurance Inspector/Controlled Material Petty Officer 2010-2013
Responsible for the organization, administration and repair of $5 million dollars’ worth of critical quality controlled material
within the Naval Special Warfare maintenance facility, and oversight of fifty controlled working packages.
Organizational Motivation
Contributed 200 hours as Quality Assurance Inspectorwith zero material/administration deficiencies, resulting in the first
ever successfuloperational/developmental testing for the newest Submarines, thus increasing Navy operational flexibility.
Hand selected as the Maintenance Controlled Material Petty Officer, to correct/maintain the Quality Assurance program and
$5 million dollars’ worth of parts,providing a reorganized and more efficient system.
Qualified all required positions ahead of peers to increase the workforce flexibility within the Maintenance Department.
Awards
Awarded second Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal for exceptional attention to detail and professionalism, resulting
in three workplace surveys with zero deficiencies.
Awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for exemplary support of Naval Special Warfare personnelduring dangerous
operations,enabling units to be fully safe and ready for mission critical deployments, which resulted 100% satisfactory rating
for 25 successfulmissions.
2. United States Navy Submarine Machinist Mate 2005–2010
Responsible for the maintenance, repair and operation of all auxiliary mechanical systems onboard a Nuclear Powered
Submarine, also for increasing the morale of the crew.
Teamwork
Successfully led three mechanics through 600 man hours for the removal and installation of 127 mechanical items.
As the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Committee President, successfully oversaw10 command functions making a positive
contribution to the morale of 200 sailors and their families.
Increased the level of knowledge and working motivation for 15 sailors through instruction/on-the-job training, resulting in a
more unified team of mechanical experts.
