  2. 2. ZEUS Zeus-is the "Father of Gods and men", according to Hesiod's Who ruled the Olympians of Mount Olympus as a father ruled the family; He was the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology.
  3. 3. Poseidon Poseidon-was the god of the sea, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of earthquakes in Greek mythology. *The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology.
  4. 4. Athena Athena: is the goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, strength, strategy, crafts, justice and skill in Greek mythology. *Athena's Roman incarnation, embodies similar attributes.
  5. 5. Hades Hades: refers both to the ancient Greek underworld *The abode of Hades, and to the god of the underworld
  6. 6. Hera Hera:was the wife and one of three sisters of Zeus in the Olympian pantheon of classical Greek Mythology. *Her chief function was as the goddess of women and marriage
  7. 7. Aphrodite Aphrodite:is the Greekgoddess of love, beauty, and sexuality *Her Roman equivalent is the goddess Venus.
  8. 8. Apollo Apollo:is one of the most important and diverse of the Olympian deities in Greek and Roman mythology. *Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun
  9. 9. Ares Ares : is the Greek god of war. "Ares is apparently an ancient abstract noun meaning throng of battle, war. *He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera.
