There is a net migration out of Traditional IT and towards software-companies. TradIT is a different culture, and the methods of psychological safety for TradIT aren't that compatible to organizations running with Agile. In this session, I go over how some of these pathologies came to be, and ways to steer new-hires into more healthy communications patterns.

A TRADITIONAL IT CULTURE Generative Organization Create a product, continually make it better, in collaboration with the entire product group. Traditional IT Organizations are Different: ● Extremely heterogenous in supported technologies. ○ Many different platforms, software frameworks, and even databases. ● Separation of duties. ○ Separate departments for SysAdmin, Development, DBA, Network... ● Mixed ownership. ○ Some parts it owns, other parts it merely supports. ○ Sometimes, which is which is not clear. ● Bureaucratic and sometime pathologic in organizational culture ○ Rarely generative @sysadm1138 HelloSign

Teaches that they can provide feedback without excessive verbal elbow. 1 Reengage If they retreat after a loss, look at it as another opportunity for feedback.
