Message from the President
Dearest Guests,
Welcome to Corpus Christi May Ball 2015. An evening of
wonder and delight awaits you as we lead you through the
transition from innocence to experience. From reliving your
childhood in New Court, to soaking up the sophistication
in Old Court, this will be a night to remember. Experience
all that life has to offer in the different areas of our ball.
I would personally like to take the opportunity to thank each
and every one of the May Ball committee members for all
their hard work. Even in our most pressured moments, their
enthusiasm has not faltered. I would also like to thank the
Master, Fellows and staff of the college for all of their support.
None of this would have been possible without their guidance.
Go forth and enjoy the Party of a Lifetime.
I’ll see you at the survivors’ photo!
Enjoy,
Livs Galvin
Corpus Christi May Ball President 2015

George Cosby  9.30pm–10.15pm
George Cosby’s brand of dark-pop opens the Main
Stage at Corpus 2015. Called ‘brilliantly sultry’ by Line
of Best Fit, his powerful voice and the raw emotion in
his songwriting has drawn comparisons to Hozier.
10.45pm–11.20pm
Labelled ‘our very own generation’s Mariah Carey’, KStewart is
an incredibly exciting talent. Having landed a 4 album deal after
her vocals on Oliver Heldens’ top 5 hit ‘Last All Night’, her debut
single ‘Keeping You Up’ has been tipped to be one of the sounds
of the summer. Championed by Annie Mac, she has a huge
future ahead of her. Just remember, you saw her at Corpus first!
12.00am–1.30am
Headlining Corpus 2015 are the electronic duo, Bondax,
with a 90 minute set sure to be one of the highlights of
May Week. Rising stars on the electronic music scene,
their most recent single, ‘All I See’, has been described as
‘pure electronic sunshine’. Having already headlined stages
at Latitude and Bestival, and with a highly anticipated
debut album in the pipeline, this is one not to miss.

1.45am–3.15am
One of the UK’s greatest contemporary dance exports,
Alex Metric is an internationally in-demand producer,
remixer and DJ. Having gone from strength to strength
since his breakthrough 2011 collaboration with Steve
Angello on ‘Open Your Eyes’, his recent works have been
released through Skrillex’s OWSLA label. His 90 minute
set is sure to reflect his international outlook and is the
perfect soundtrack for the Party of A Lifetime.
Sifaka b2b Ali Murray 3.30am–5.30am
Closing the night on a high will be Sifaka b2b Ali Murray.
Sifaka’s residence at Turf and ArcSoc have seen him play sets
ranging from afrobeat to garage, with some soul thrown in
for good measure. We have teamed him up with house DJ Ali
Murray, whose experience at Fabric and Ministry of Sound
has seen him perform alongside Pendulum
and Chase and Status. We can’t wait to see
what this two hour collaboration has in
store to end the night at Corpus 2015!
99
Other Musical Ents
We’ve packed Old Court with the best jazz, funk
and rock ‘n’ roll Cambridge has to offer.
Churchill Jazz kick off the night with a slick big band
set, followed by the hugely entertaining Brass Funkeys
– their big, brash New Orleans sound is a must see.
The night moves into rock ‘n’ roll with The Fabulous Hurricanes,
who bring a huge energy to their covers of 1950s and 60s classics.
The rock ‘n’ roll continues with Dirty Blonde and
The Bonbonbonbons, two firm student favourites. Known for
their infectious enthusiasm, their sets are sure to get you moving!
Hazel and the Handcuffs then bring a funk twist to
modern classics from Beyonce to Justin Timberlake and
funk closes the night with Finding Freddie Love’s set.
Master’s Garden
For a more relaxed atmosphere visit our
acoustic tent in the Masters’ Garden.
A String Quartet sets the tone for
the night ahead, and is followed
by the close harmonies
of Over the Bridge, one
of the most innovative
acapella groups in
Cambridge.
Rachel Clark’s talent as a singer-songwriter
has resulted in her being tipped as one to watch
by BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6; be sure to catch
Old Court
10
her Joni Mitchell-esque compositions at 11.00pm.
The world-renowned acapella group, The King’s Men,
then deliver a beautifully poised and accomplished set.
Corpus next welcomes Anna Hester’s calming folk-
pop sound to the Masters’ Garden, and the night
concludes with Miles Stopher’s talents on guitar
and piano, weaving his way from folk to jazz.
Kwee Court
For the more energetic amongst you, head over to our
brand new dance stage in Kwee Court, where we’ll take
you on a journey through genres and ages
as diverse as electro-swing and R&B.
First, DJ Ethro creates the
atmosphere for the evening with a
summery downtempo mix. Snare
cranks the tempo up a notch
with his unique live mash-ups,
and is followed by Boardwalk
Bandit’s electro-swing set.
Ken Lim takes us back to
a more commercial sound
with his Top 40/House mix,
and Rohan Shanker closes
the stage with a classic old
school R&B set, sure to bring
back childhood memories.

Non-Musical Ents
Our party of a lifetime will guide you through the comfort
of infancy, the whimsical nostalgia of childhood and the
exuberant vibrancy of adolescence, and will offer you a
glimpse of your twilight years in truly decadent style.
Tonight, our 19th century New Court is your playground.
Experience that giddy feeling as you ride on our swing boats, or
take a different view of things from the inside of one of our zorbs.
Visit the Bursar’s Garden and sit back to enjoy revisiting
your favourite childhood TV shows in our cinema.
It’s break time in Hall. Revel in your inner child, indulging in
all the fun you thought you’d left behind in the schoolyard.
The giant scalextric and fancy dress photo booth will
make you feel as though you’d never grown up.
Whether 21 or 61, we’re all students at heart. Come and
grab a few drinks in the Pelican Bar before hitting the
dance floor at the silent disco. No need to hold back here,
dance as if nobody is watching…or listening at least.
After excelling yourself on the dance floor, come up the stairs
to the JCR to switch off, take a seat and pamper yourself in
old school, slumber-party style with a contemporary twist.
Get your hair braided, try out a new and exclusive UV body-
painting, and have a go at the LUSH make-up colour wheel.
Remember the artist your childhood self knew you could be
and sit down for some colouring in I4 later in the night.
From 9-12, our photographer will be available in the Bacon Room.
All this and more will keep you entertained
and delighted through the night.
16
Food
The Committee Recommends…
The customisable burgers and hotdogs in New Court, or
their fish finger sandwiches for a blast from your past. If
you fancy something sweet, remember the parties of your
childhood with Yubba-Yubba’s famous sticky doughnuts.
For tonight, Old Court is home to a grown up version
of your favourite hot foods, from sweet potato fries to
sophisticated Mac ‘n’ Cheese with a parmesan and thyme
crumble, accompanied by a range of delicious desserts.
Our wedding in the Master’s Garden features reception
food provided by Aromi. Don’t miss their rustic pizza
squares, arancini and of course their phenomenal gelato.
Later on, enjoy a selection of cheese and antipasti.
In Kwee Court, Baba G’s will be bringing in a gap yah vibe, serving
wraps with tandoori chicken, lamb jalfrezi and Bombay potatoes.
Make sure to check out their ‘pachos’ – poppadum nachos.
Visit our nursery in I4 to recreate your
earliest memories with milk and cookies,
or take a trip to Hall to upgrade your
school tuck shop experience.
This is just a small selection of the
edible delights we have on offer
for you tonight. There is plenty
more to tantalise your taste
buds on this journey through life.
17
Drinks
The committee recommends…
New Court plays host to Jack’s Gelato, with a new twist
on classic childhood favourites. Don’t miss the refreshing
punches served at our central bar (alcoholic and virgin),
and look forward to a bellini with breakfast.
Our main bar in Old Court is stocked with a generous
supply of fizz cocktails as well as a variety of spirits and
softs. Unleash your inner Gatsby. Later in the night, enjoy a
range of barista-style coffees, tea and hot chocolate.
Practice your wedding partying with luxurious drinks in
the Master’s Garden. With champagne and cocktails,
how could it not be the happiest day of your life?
For tonight, we have transformed the Bacon Room into a
traditional British pub, complete with pork pies
and pasties. Sit back, relax and enjoy a beer.
Come and party in classic student style in the
Pelican Bar, with alcopops and energy
drinks to keep you dancing all night long.
As well as the alcoholic and non-alcoholic
we have across the ball, bottled water
is available from every bar. Enjoy
all this and much more. This is the
Party of a Lifetime after all!
18
Drinks
Prior to the ball, the committee is exceptionally proud to have
worked with The Cambridge Distillery in producing a Corpus
May Ball Gin which has been sold to guests and friends of
guests. Thanks go to Will Lowe for making this possible as it is
a truly special product and we have had wonderful feedback.
The Corpus Gin is like no others. Produced solely using
botanicals culled from our own college garden’s at
Leckhampton house a single batch of Corpus May Ball Gin has
been produced, to order, for guests of the Corpus May Ball 2015.
The Cambridge Distillery produces some of the most exclusive
gin in the world so we are really lucky to have had them on board.

  • 18. Non-Musical Ents Our party of a lifetime will guide you through the comfort of infancy, the whimsical nostalgia of childhood and the exuberant vibrancy of adolescence, and will offer you a glimpse of your twilight years in truly decadent style. Tonight, our 19th century New Court is your playground. Experience that giddy feeling as you ride on our swing boats, or take a different view of things from the inside of one of our zorbs. Visit the Bursar’s Garden and sit back to enjoy revisiting your favourite childhood TV shows in our cinema. It’s break time in Hall. Revel in your inner child, indulging in all the fun you thought you’d left behind in the schoolyard. The giant scalextric and fancy dress photo booth will make you feel as though you’d never grown up. Whether 21 or 61, we’re all students at heart. Come and grab a few drinks in the Pelican Bar before hitting the dance floor at the silent disco. No need to hold back here, dance as if nobody is watching…or listening at least. After excelling yourself on the dance floor, come up the stairs to the JCR to switch off, take a seat and pamper yourself in old school, slumber-party style with a contemporary twist. Get your hair braided, try out a new and exclusive UV body- painting, and have a go at the LUSH make-up colour wheel. Remember the artist your childhood self knew you could be and sit down for some colouring in I4 later in the night. From 9-12, our photographer will be available in the Bacon Room. All this and more will keep you entertained and delighted through the night. 16
  • 19. Food The Committee Recommends… The customisable burgers and hotdogs in New Court, or their fish finger sandwiches for a blast from your past. If you fancy something sweet, remember the parties of your childhood with Yubba-Yubba’s famous sticky doughnuts. For tonight, Old Court is home to a grown up version of your favourite hot foods, from sweet potato fries to sophisticated Mac ‘n’ Cheese with a parmesan and thyme crumble, accompanied by a range of delicious desserts. Our wedding in the Master’s Garden features reception food provided by Aromi. Don’t miss their rustic pizza squares, arancini and of course their phenomenal gelato. Later on, enjoy a selection of cheese and antipasti. In Kwee Court, Baba G’s will be bringing in a gap yah vibe, serving wraps with tandoori chicken, lamb jalfrezi and Bombay potatoes. Make sure to check out their ‘pachos’ – poppadum nachos. Visit our nursery in I4 to recreate your earliest memories with milk and cookies, or take a trip to Hall to upgrade your school tuck shop experience. This is just a small selection of the edible delights we have on offer for you tonight. There is plenty more to tantalise your taste buds on this journey through life. 17
  • 20. Drinks The committee recommends… New Court plays host to Jack’s Gelato, with a new twist on classic childhood favourites. Don’t miss the refreshing punches served at our central bar (alcoholic and virgin), and look forward to a bellini with breakfast. Our main bar in Old Court is stocked with a generous supply of fizz cocktails as well as a variety of spirits and softs. Unleash your inner Gatsby. Later in the night, enjoy a range of barista-style coffees, tea and hot chocolate. Practice your wedding partying with luxurious drinks in the Master’s Garden. With champagne and cocktails, how could it not be the happiest day of your life? For tonight, we have transformed the Bacon Room into a traditional British pub, complete with pork pies and pasties. Sit back, relax and enjoy a beer. Come and party in classic student style in the Pelican Bar, with alcopops and energy drinks to keep you dancing all night long. As well as the alcoholic and non-alcoholic we have across the ball, bottled water is available from every bar. Enjoy all this and much more. This is the Party of a Lifetime after all! 18
  • 21. Drinks Prior to the ball, the committee is exceptionally proud to have worked with The Cambridge Distillery in producing a Corpus May Ball Gin which has been sold to guests and friends of guests. Thanks go to Will Lowe for making this possible as it is a truly special product and we have had wonderful feedback. The Corpus Gin is like no others. Produced solely using botanicals culled from our own college garden’s at Leckhampton house a single batch of Corpus May Ball Gin has been produced, to order, for guests of the Corpus May Ball 2015. The Cambridge Distillery produces some of the most exclusive gin in the world so we are really lucky to have had them on board. 19
