Masthead, the Nintendologo
is visible so it’ll draw an
audience because Nintendo
are one of the most well
known companies to exist
and a recognizable brand too.
Mario is the dominant image
he is a well known Nintendo
mascot, essentially the face of
Nintendo, it also shows what
the main focus is, being Mario.
This will entice an audience to buy as the game is supposedly the
‘game of the year’ this is an important sell line.
Every magazine should have this,
it has the barcode and the issue
number so people will know
what issue they’re on
The colour that
is used shows a positive mood to the
magazine as the colours used are
bright and usually used in a positive
manner
This means that it is obviously the official magazine
which will entice an audience as this is coming
straight from Nintendo themselves.
How will the audience use this
magazine?
I think the audience will use this for
‘surveillance’ (being given information)
because considering it’s a Nintendo
magazine it’ll only be about Nintendo
and the audience will know that when
they purchase the magazine and they’ll
want to know what is happening at
Nintendo, this is an example of Katz and
Blumler uses of gratification theory.
This is the publisher of the
magazine
2.
Who is thetarget audience for this magazine?
• Normally there’d be a set audience with certain magazines but for
this Nintendo magazine you could consider everyone who likes games
to be the target audience, because Nintendo is a brand that people of
all ages enjoy, there’s been people playing Nintendo since the first
Nintendo was made in 1983.
• If this is to be believed this magazine could appeal to around 1.2
billion as that is how many people are playing video games now,
which gives this magazine a wide audience span.
