Heads-up Displays: Inspiring Creative User Interfaces

We are surrounded by heads up displays. Whether it is a flight schedule at the airport or your own car’s dashboard, heads up displays are greatly impacting our everyday experiences. Over the past few years, I have developed a special focus on heads up displays (HUDs) teaching a college course at a University while working as an enterprise UX Designer.

The user experience for Heads Up Displays is slightly different than everyday e-commerce sites or data-rich applications, but as we move toward augmented reality these user interfaces are becoming increasingly important. The videogame industry already utilizes HUDs heavily for communicating information.

By looking at how videogames are using their unique fiction and game space to create immersive ways of communication information, we can be inspired as UX Professionals.
