The Portrait of the Queen<br />This is one of Rankin’s more famous photos as it is of the most famous lady in the country, if not the world; the queen.<br />The image is a simple shot of the queen with an unusual smile, instead of the usual plain background, Rankin has placed her in front of the union jack, symbolising her country.<br />I’m not sure as to what the meaning maybe as, it’s a simple portrait possibly used as part of her publicity for the royal family. <br />Most people are used to seeing the image of the queen flanked by various security guards, but this is a more normal portrait showing a more personal side that isn't seen.<br />
