2. WHAT: Magee-Womens Hospital of
UPMC will be supporting the Uni-
versity of Pittsburgh Men’s Hockey
Team as they host Duquesne Uni-
versity in the second annual “Pink
the Rink” hockey game. All proceeds
benefit patient care at Magee-Wom-
ens Breast Cancer Program.
WHO: Officials from Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and the Ma-
gee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation will be in attendance.
WHEN: 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 4th
WHERE: Alpha Ice Complex, 66 Alpha Drive West, Pittsburgh, 15213
WHY: About 12 percent of women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast
cancer over the course of her lifetime. This year alone, more than 230,000
new cases of invasive breast cancer and more than 60,000 cases of non-in-
vasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed.
Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC is recognized as a leader in cancer care in the
U.S., and works in partnership with many in the community to spread the word
about treatments and research.

The Pitt Men’s Hockey Team will be holding raffles to fundraise for the Magee-Wom-
en’s Research Institute & Foundation as part of the “Pink the Rink” charity game.
Proceeds from the raffles will go towards research for breast cancer. Last year the
Pitt Men’s Hockey Team raised $4000. Help us reach our goal to double last year’s
pledge. Donations for the Magee-Women’s Research Institute & Foundation can
also be made at the game.
