For more information on Westfield please visit: www.westfield.com/us/corporate/ DUTIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a leadership position within a newly formed department focused on strategic, user-centric product development and design of next-generation experience concepts for Westfield’s $2.8 billion in shopping center developments around the country. The Development Marketing team works closely with Real-Estate Development, Leasing, Design and Marketing early on in the development cycle to create the overall product vision and concept story that drives all aspects of the project. The Director, Development Marketing will:  Conduct consumer research, analyze retail trends and utilize knowledge of local market dynamics as a basis for visioning and design. Considerations include: 1) what types of products to offer (retail, dining, entertainment and services), 2) which level to offer these products (discount, mid-level, bridge or luxury) and 3) how to position the new products from B2B and B2C perspectives.  Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure that product development and visioning efforts leverage the breadth of Westfield’s experience, that there is consistency of the positioning, and that the relevant customer insight and retail trends are applied to both the project direction and the myriad communication efforts attached to the project – including trade communications, selling materials and pre-opening collateral materials.  Work closely with Development, Leasing, Community Relations and other project stakeholders to produce important communications tools through the development

Development Marketing Director Page 3 of 4 cycle, needed to sell the project internally and externally, design it, get it built, lease it, and market it.  Work closely with the Field Marketing organization to translate the project positioning into compelling consumer facing communications, and by providing support and advice on best practices related to the development of marketing plans, marketing budgets, advertising campaigns, ground breaking events, grand openings events and public relations. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Breadth of experience in brand strategy, product development and customer experience design, as well as strong project management.  Industry experience in retail/department store and/or entertainment retailer property/hotel/resorts/restaurant/gaming industries.  Experience leveraging creative talents to create strategic value for business.  Experience managing the interests of large numbers of project stakeholders both internally and externally, to create a shared point of view and a common direction.  Excellent communication skills and an ability to enlist cooperation among external partners, vendors, tenants along with internal department heads and field employees.  Experience managing culture change and influencing new work practices. QUALIFICATIONS:  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven to 10 years of experience in the following disciplines: - Brand Strategy/Marketing - Retail or Related Product Development - Consumer Insight  Strong leadership, strategic thinking and visioning skills.  Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret statistical data.  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple levels of management and business divisions.  Strong creative ability and passion for innovation.  A passion for retail.
