and custom homes. I paved roads, washed cars, waited tables, washed dishes and sold Kirby
vacuum cleaners.

Through R.O.T.C. and other programs on campus, learned not only how to work as a team to
accomplish goals but also achieved rank and respect from my fellow cadets in my company and
battalion. The 109th corps of cadets was nationally recognized as an "Honor Unit", winning the
distinctions of "Best in the Nation" and "Best in History" during the formal inspection by the U.S.
Military of all military academies in the U.S. in 1997. As a result, awarded a Gold Star medal.
