6. 6.

Sustainable Measures (cont. 1):

5.Using a horizontal cavity between the existing and the addition and use this colder air from this space for ventilation purposes;

6.Re-using an existing Heat Pump.

7.Re-use the existing swimming pool by converting this to an underground ‘thermal water storage’ wich will be cooled down by the heatpump at nighttime.* The chilled water will be used at daytime to cool the building.

*The lower temperature at night results in a better performance of the heatpump.

 7. 7.

Sustainable Measures (cont.2):

8.Usage of solar panels to produce hot water for heating in wintertime;

9.Using PV (Photovoltaïc) panels on the roof, generating electric power which equals the consumption of the workstation computers in the building;

10.Preservation of the existing trees and plants, including new soft landscaping focusing on low water consumption;

11.Using sustainable office furniture, re- using existing desk lights.

 8. 8. Daylight Harvesting: sky light under parasol . The skylight above the central hall provides diffused daylight in the middle of the building so no artificial lights are needed during daytime.
