through its manufacturing and
sales subsidiaries.
• The name of the company in
Latin means cards for the
world.It is one of the world's
largest playing card
manufacturers.

3. Museum of
playing cards
• The museum boasts the largest
collection of playing cards from Turnhout
and the historical Low Countries.
• Oldest original pieces date back to the
early 16th century
• The emphasis is on the industrial era
(from the 18th century to the present).
• Turnhout based cartographers made
name for themselves in this period. As
most of their card games were destined
for export, the museum now hosts items
from all over the world.

4. Highlight 1:
Steam engine
The steam engine provided continuous power
and was the driving force behind the Industrial
Revolution.

5. Highlight 2:
Printing press
Printing press was made in 1829 by J.H.
Bouhoulle in Antwerp.
It is the first all-metal printing press,
commissioned by P.J. Brepols.
