  3. 3. <ul><li>The state is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south, and Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border with Rhode Island east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Ontario to the west, and Quebec to the north </li></ul>

  6. 6. Seal <ul><li>The Great Seal of the State of New York is almost the same as the flag, but in a seal. The goddess Justice symbolizes freedom before the law. She is shown with a blindfold over her eyes, and is also holding the scales of justice in her left hand. The goddess Liberty, who symbolizes freedom, holds a pole with a Phrygian (liberty) cap and is stepping on top of the Crown, symbolizing freedom from King George III of the United Kingdom after the American Revolutionary War. There is a shield between them, which has a picture of the Hudson Highland, the Sun, and two sail boats sailing on the Hudson River. Over the shield is a globe, showing the Atlantic Ocean, and a bald eagle. Under the shield is a curving ribbon that reads New York's state motto — &quot;Excelsior&quot;, which can be translated from Latin as &quot;ever upwards.&quot; </li></ul>

It runs from Manhattan up to the city of Albany.The middle part is home to several theaters, which are the center of the U.S. theater, attracting many tourists from around the world. It is also one of the main streets of Manhattan and one of the most recognizable places in New York and the United States </li></ul>
