 Resemble the Aeta people with tightly
curled hair and dark skin
 They speak the dialect Binatak
 They do not have a developed
system of writing

-is a bamboo areophone similar to a flute with 6
finger holes

-is an idiophone made of a softwood played by
hitting with sticks

-is an idiophone similar to sabagan, which is
suspended from house beams

6.  LANTOY
-is a nose flute with two holes
 KODIAN
-is an almost 2 meter long
instrument with two barks of fiber
 BUDLONG
-is a chordophone similar to a
guitar with two strings

7. Means “people of the rock”
Also called Ken-uy
They compose their own song
and dances
Their song is mimetic, they
usually imitate the sounds
made by animals in the forests

8.  LANTIGI
-it is a narrative song that tells
about a bird which they call limukon
 KANDIDI
-performed by more than 2
singers.
-lyrics are done as if they are just
talking to each other

9.  PAGANG
-is a zither made of bamboo with 13 strings
 KUDLUNG
-is a guitar made of wood that has 2 strings
only
 SULING
-is an aerophone made of small bamboo with
4 holes
 ARUDING
-is a jaw harp made of small bamboo placed
near the mouth and blown to produce sounds

10.  TAREK
-their most popular dance
-is performed all night in all social
gatherings
-characterized by stomping the
performers’ feet alternately
 TORON
-a ritual dance performed to cure the sick
-it is done by a priestess (babaylan) to
drive away the evil spirits that causes sickness
