I LIKE TO… MOVE IT!Help me getting tickets for an internship
HI! MY NAME IS JOANNA I come from Sopot, Poland, but since summer 2011 I live in Padua, Italy I’m doing masters in sociology at the Univeristy of Padua
MY HOBBIES ARE: travelling, discovering other cultures, challenging the intercultural differences and sharing similarities, language(s), sailing, bike riding, jazz and classical music, preparing and eating deserts, and many, many more!
MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALWAYS CALL MEASIA… …because it’s the Polish diminutive of Joanna and it has nothing in common with the continent! „My” continent is Europe – I come from here and I’ve visited most of European countries in the past few years… Actually I also visited Asia once! (Ok, twice if we count the Asian part of Istanbul.) But I’ve never seen the other continents.
STUDYING ABROAD HAS MANY ADVANTAGES,FOR EXAMPLE: learning the local language in a much effective way than in your home country, meeting local people whom you (try to) teach your mother tongue, sharing cultural similarities and differences opening your mind for new experiences FINDING AN OFFER OF AN INTERNSHIP IN MADAGASCAR
SO ONE DAY I WAS COMING BACK FROMCLASSES and I found an offer of the internship… It’s a 3-weeks workshop of techniques and metodologies of field research. It’s a socio-anthropological and socio-sanitar project which will take place in 3 different destinations (1 week in each of them): Antananarivo (the capital, Analamanga region), Ampanenjanana (Fianarantsoa region), Andranomaria (Analamanga region).
SOUND NICE, BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The aim of the project is to conduct a research in 3 different ethnicities with 3 different historical backgrounds: Merina, the most modern and „Western” one in the capital city, Betsileo, geographically isolated that has had few contact with the Europeans, Merina/Betsimisaraka, where the pre-colonial lifestyle is still practiced. Participating in this research is a possibility of participating in a real anthropological expedition for people who so far only read about it learning for exams…
AND ONE OF THESE PEOPLE IS MESo why don’t you give me a chance to go there andexplore a completely different, unique culture?Vote for me in the scholarship contest!
