2. How Eureka Assists Comprehension
To evaluate how Eureka assists comprehension, quiz tests were conducted in both the schools of
the Ministry of Education, UAE where Eureka was being piloted.
Methodology
1. The schools were told one week in advance that a quiz test will be held.
2. The Grades for which the quiz tests were to be conducted were chosen by the respective
schools. Princess Haya School, Rashidiya chose Grade 8 with 22 students and Nad al Hamar
School, Nad al Hamar chose Grade 9 with 24 students.
3. The subject and topic of the quiz were not revealed to the school.
4. The class environment was non assisted. The teachers supervised the conduct of the quiz but
did not explain the topic in any manner.
4. The students were shown the text of the topic, given adequate time to read the text and were
then asked to answer the quiz. The quiz test papers were collected.
5. The students were then shown the animation film of the same topic and were asked to answer
the same quiz on a fresh quiz test paper.
6. The quiz tests were not timed.
